Herblore Training Plan

Recommended Posts

Recently I decided to get a cls. I'm about halfway there at the moment, so I decided in the time I'm not dungeoneering (taking a break or don't have a full hour+ to spend doing a large dungeon), I should work on maximizing my available equipment. Since I have 99 melees, I will not get the rapier, which is why I'm buying the cls--boss monsters.

I have 89 herblore and 95 prayer and 96 summoning. 99 summoning will come in due time, as this summer I simply don't have the 4+ hours in a row to spend barraging rock lobsters. I couldn't think of any other skills I'd need to raise to prep my boss hunting spree, so I decided to get overloads. Now, if you can think of another skill I ought to raise, please tell me.

So I need your help. I'm going to get 92 herblore so I can boost with the Evil Stew. How should I go about doing this? I have plenty of stews in my bank, so if I need to boost to train that's fine with me. How many of what potions should I make?

In my bank, I have a 65m cashpile to play around with, and I'm expecting an average of 7m profit every week to add to that. I also have an sgs that I rarely use, so I'm willing to sell it. I doubt I'll have to go that far though, and I'd rather not sell something I don't need to for this.

So what's the plan?

EDIT: Oh yes, I have 185 extreme attack (4), 185 extreme strength (4), and 135 extreme ranging (4) in my bank. I suppose I could just drink 1 dose of each if I wanted to make ovls with them. Is that a viable option or should I make a fresh batch?

From 89-91, make ~680 of each ext, use stews if you have to. Making them to ovl will get you 91-92. I'm not sure exactly how many, but I think it took me ~680. That way you won't waste money getting herb exp past 92 and you'll still have more then enough ovl. Use the log out trick once you get a +5 boost ofc

But see, +5 might be a little too rare considering how I play. It occurs less than 9% of the time. How quickly can you make 680 overloads?

Right, something like that, I knew I was off by a lil. Thanks for pointing that out :)

For getting (3) pots for making overloads there is a person in the building east of the bank in Nardah that turns your pots into (3) for a small fee.

Slayer; it's just what I do.

It is an issue getting the boost at first, but once you get it, you can keep it there until you are finished. You need to time your logouts so that just before the boosts drop by one, you are logged out, and just after you log back in. You can probably make 680 overloads in an hour or two if you are decent at it.

Taken from the Tip.It Herblore Skill Guide (Sroll up like 1 line after clicking that):

Zahur in Nardah can decant all the potions in your inventory into 3 dose potions for 50gp per inventory.

Edit: Also, while searching Zahur in the Google Tip.It, the 4th results is RUNESCAPE - Tip.it RuneScape Help :: Runescape Item Database ... Now, notice the /inc in the URL. Completely messes up the, and any other, page. Nothing big, but a fix wouldn't hurt. ;)

Actually, it's the index.php/ that messes that up. And for some reason, the /inc without the index just redirects you to the homepage.

Basically, I agree with everyone else. Make the supplies for about 700 overloads, then make the overloads. It's not the cheapest, but if you have uses for the all, it's great. On the mattter of the CLS; I've heard that a rapier is better for bosses as well once you're maxed melee and have extremes or overloads. I don't want to start a debate, but you may want to do a but more research.

It might be worth getting some of those levels with super prayers/special attack restores as you are looking at monster hunting anyway- super prayers are cheap(when you factor in the prayer point cost) herblore xp, though not very fast while allowing for longer trips while spec restores are average in terms of cost per xp but very helpful for bandos/TD solo.

Edit: You might also look at making some of the initial potions which will later be turned in to overloads for cheaper xp rates, i think super defence should be one of the cheaper ones in terms of gp/xp.

Interesting. Did you remember where you heard that from?
