F2P Mining, Magic, and Smithing XP with PROFIT

Featured Replies

This is a very easy way to make money WITH xp in the three skills in the title. All you need is about 50K, some Varrock teleports, 43 magic, 30 smithing, and 15 mining.

untitled-1.jpg

Just walk or teleport to Varrock, then go to the West Bank, grab your pickaxe and 3 air runes, a fire rune, and a law rune. Follow the red arrow and mine some iron, then teleport to the green spot and follow the blue arrow back to the bank. Repeat till you have about 50 (could do more with extra profit, but it's more expensive), then buy twice as many coal as you have iron. If you don't have any, buy some nature runes and a fire staff. Then superheat all your iron and coal into steel bars. Sell them for a 20% return. So 50 steel bars = 41k for materials -> 49k end money = 8k profit = 20%. If you used 500, then 410K for materials -> 490k end money = 80k profit = 20%. This works well for medium leveled players wanting to train different skills, I can do an inventory in about 15 seconds, so that's about 800/hr with mining and banking, that makes 128k/hr, which isn't much, but say you are a high leveled miner, and you can make 1600/hr, that's 256k/hr WITH all the experience. Like I said, good for medium leveled players.

i dont think your estimate of 1 inventory every 15 seconds its right, other than that, good guide

perhaps it might be since hes making steel bars. I'm no expert in superheating but if im correct a steel bar is 1 iron ore + 2 coals. so with pick in his inv (he wearing fire staff), nature runes and that would leave him with 26 inv spaces. should take about 15 secs maybe a bit more.

nice guide btw :)

By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest;

Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.

by what he wrote, i understand he means 15 secs per mining trip

by what he wrote, i understand he means 15 secs per mining trip

You obviously must have pathetic reading skills; he means 15 seconds per inventory of superheating bars.

No, no no. What I meant was after I bank all the ore that I mine, I can superheat an inventory in 15 seconds. Mining everything triples the time, so 800 is my best estimate.

i know that now, i was just stating where i got confused.

You need to factor in the time it took you to mine Iron. I'm not sure how many you can get in an hour that that spot, but mining iron is very inefficient.

Dungeoneering isn't a skill.

You can't mine iron for, superheat, and smith 1.6k steel bars in 1 hour even with 99 mining :---)

Better way to do it! Go to Ge buy coal an even numbers withdraw 1 fire staff, 1 pickaxe, x amount of nature runes(half as many as coal) now equip your fire staff next take out 24 coal from your bank. Go to the mining site mine the two iron rocks superheat the 2 steel bars repeat until invent is full then bank and repeat til you run out of coal.

The Dwarven Mine resource dungeon allows faster bank deposit box access, since you won't be withdrawing items anyway.

Speaking of that, it might probably be more efficient to mine all your ores first, THEN do the superheating in a 1-click bank like duel arena.

That's what I said. And I wrote this guide before resource dungeons came out.

I've tested that. It uses more run energy = less trips per hour = less profit. And you'll only be getting 12 bars + 14 ore, which weighs more = less trip.... just look over there... ^^^ I'd rather get 25 bars instead of 26 if I could get more of them in the same amount of time (teleporting to bank saves time), and plus superheating at mine takes a while... and 12 bars weigh more than 12 ore.
