2Bi
Guide to the BEST iron mining spot in f2p Requirement:15 dungeoneering (not quite a requirement, u can get it within a day or two) A high enough combat level so the scorpions(lv 14) wont attack you After the release of dungeoneering batch 1.5, 4 new resource dungeons are added to the non-member world. One of them is in dwaven mine and it requires 15 dungeoneering to access. Inside it is some coal ores, silver ores and mithril ores and a DEPOSIT BOX. However, the training spot itself is not in the dungeon, rather, it is the 3 iron ores OUTSIDE it. I will explain this in more detail. To go to these training spot, just go to falador and climb down a ladder wast of the partyroom. Go south until you see an entrance. Just in front of the entrance are 3 iron ores. Just mine until you get a full inventory and go into the dungeon and bank your iron ores using the deposit box. Go out the dungeon and repeat the process. Now, this is by far the BEST iron mining spot out there in f2p , or even in p2p (im not sure as im f2p in the past 3 years). In terms of banking, it is much near to a bank( the deposit box) than the Varrock east mine. The whole process of banking can be done within 20 seconds or less, depening on whether you are concentrating on the task. For xp , it is comparable to powermining in Al Kharid as you don't have the need to drop the iron ores , which makes the training much easier and much enjoyable. The xp rate could is 30k/hr even if you are watching TV or youtube or just slacking, and can hit 40k-50k if you concentrate on the taks at hand. So, hope this tip help you f2p miners and happy mining! : )
JohnTheCop
Its a good idea but 3 1/2 paragraphs isnt a guide you should have put it in the new content section probably "Happiness depends more on the inward disposition of mind than on outward circumstances."Benjamin Franklin "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."Albert Einstein
foursideking
I agree, and would also like to add that 3 rocks isn't a guide either. There's a reason why the draynor willows haven't had a guide made about them: they're too heavily populated, and there isn't really a reason to form one huuuge guide about them. 2/10.... re4p3r1
i haven't been there yet but i've heard it gets packed during peak times, not sure if it'll be a good training spot if so. stick with coal myself.anyways, the guide could use a few pictures, and just glancing through those xp per hour numbers, they look a little high. is that with 99 mining? Gehackte
The iron mine is crowded often, but the mithril inside the lvl 15 dungeoneering dungeon is very quiet. If you need mitrhil for smithing or selling, mine it there you can get up to i guess 200 an hour. 6 rocks is a lot next to a deposit box. Anyone already been in the lvl 45 dungeoneering dungeon? I hear it has rune rocks in it. How does 20 minutes turn into 2.5 hours? Was your math perhaps magical math?

Sir_Kurity
but the mithril inside the lvl 15 dungeoneering dungeon is very quiet Thats because mithril is quite possibly the worst ore in the game to mine, for both money and XP. O.O
Youmu
The "quite high" combat requirement is 29, or even 65 if a king scorpion decides to disturb you. And you didn't mention the level 45 spot, with loads of addy and rune ore? Could do with a lot more improvement. gago
It was a helpful tip anyways..If you need iron ore and you're a fairly high mining level(to beat the lower leveled people) you can survive there. If not, there are another 2 rocks nearby, you can mine them with almost no disturbance. About the mithril inside - i've seen 4-5 people fighting for spawns in there.. Kaida23
Your max Xp/hour rate is *way* to high for F2P. Three-rock powermining iron tops out at around 36k Xp/hour (trust me, I've been doing it for the last year) so using the deposit box method would be less than that, probably more like 32-34k Xp/hour. I also noticed a typo and a small mistake:...just go to falador and climb down a ladder wast of the partyroom...I think you meant to type "west", but the ladder to the mine is actually east of the partyroom. anim7
Powermining is still the fastest for xp/hour. Try hobgoblin mines. I get a peak of 39k/hour there. Mine all, drop all. That area(falador) is too crowded for any efficiency. 100% F2P85 Mining achieved on Dec 4, 200785 Smithing achieved on May 28, 2009

Dropping an ore while you're mining the next one doesn't slow anything down because you're dropping during the mining animation. If timed correctly you can constantly mine with no stopping except to run between ores. Anything that would take you away from the rocks, like running to the deposit box, would slow this down. That said, this is definitely the fastest way to both mine and bank your iron ores. Powermining is still the fastest for xp/hour. Try hobgoblin mines. I get a peak of 39k/hour there. Mine all, drop all. That area(falador) is too crowded for any efficiency.I'd forgotten about the Hobgoblin mine. With four rocks in close proximity you'd definitely get higher Xp/hour rates there. I don't use it myself because I hate being interrupted by PK'ers or Revs. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. Zaaps1
Technically speaking, you CAN get as high as 42k xp/hr by powermining iron. You'd just have to be a really well programmed bot. When I got 85 mining, I was f2p and thus powermined iron. I never once went a significant amount over 35k xp/hr So when you say can hit 40k-50k if you concentrate on the taks at hand. I'm going to have to say, no you can't. ~It's Super Effective!
