I mean, in the end, they're frenchmen, and being brought off to Prussia for the next 5 years won't make them happy. Plus, try loading 19,000 angry guys into boats. Not so easy. Young, Medium, Old. I only have 1500 troops that would advance to the next level in this battle, so it doesn't make much of a difference. It will have side effects, but it beats being out of the game. Plus I have the bonuses:Sans-culottes (Less chance of revolts due to warfare)Conscription (ability to conscript soldiers)so that should help. If I was making my entire 40k army significantly stronger, then that would make a big difference. All I'm saying is me upgrading 3% of my army isn't a huge change in my overall strength.
