Elf Spice Posted October 14, 2010 Share Posted October 14, 2010 Bump!So I read an interesting post on RSC detailing how range bonus affects cannon accuracy, and so I was interested in potentially getting the longbow (S) since it is 20+ bonus over Chaotic xbow and doesn't degrade. Now, okay, for you people with steel titans that LIKE not hitting high, I see where your coming from. Because. It doesn't hit high. I find it sucks there, as the increased accuracy DOES NOT make up for the decreased damage. HALF the range str vs.... I can't remember, not that large an increase in accuracy. Especially not if your wearing ranged armor to go with it. I agree that the Sight is probably meant mainly for F2P. Shortbow, less accuracy, less ranged, faster, VS sighted, much higher accuracy, higher distance, slower. Same max hit. I want a refund on it :x Honestly, I think if Jagex wants P2P to use normal bows again, the longbow sight needs to increase damage, not just accuracy. It's a pity that brutal arrows can only be shot from a Ogre Bow. Ranged udpate that never seemed to take off, despite that Rune Brutal arrows have the same range str as dragon arrows. Now, if Jagex wants to revive arrows....allow the Sighted Magic Longbow (and possible the Sighted Maple Longbow for consistency) to fire brutal arrows, then add brutal dragon arrows and keep them relatively cheap.... We'd be looking at MSB with +80 ranged damage. THAT would make it worth using as something other then a low damage weapon. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. I tested out MLB @ frost dragons and it's way better than rune xbow + broads. However rune xbow + rune bolts are way more efficient. But since the Chaotic xbow is +120 range now, along with max range bonus + rune bolts, would beat MLB. The only thing that I like about MLB is that it looks sick with the scope.
