When to use/not use RoW?

I know how the Ring of Wealth works, how it removes empty slots from the rare drop table, giving a player a better chance to obtain a rare item from that drop table. But when I'm fighting, for example, Blue Dragons, is the RoW worth using? When should one use or not use the RoW?

did you know the part that the rare drop table only consists of items like rune javelins, half keys, etc.

not whips, visages, etc.

ROW doesn't actually help boost the drop rate of the truly valuable items.

ROW is worthless now that there are many other options available.

Berserker (i) or possibly onyx/warrior (i) when fighting steels.

I somewhat knew that, but I wasn't completely sure. So I guess I should be using my Archer's Ring over the RoW for Ranging Blue Dragons. Although, I do however recall it working well for getting shell drops from tortoises. Can someone confirm this?

As far as I know, the rare drop table does not contain any sort of unique drop.

If you're using a ring of wealth, you're using it because you want to improve gem drops. Most of the time you don't care about improving gem drops--certainly not at blue dragons, where you presumably aren't even picking up most gems. Goraks are probably the place where RoW is most useful, because they drop from the rare drop table so frequently.

if they drop commonly wouldnt that mean there are fewer empty slots on the rare drop table? :P
