World
Hey guys, I sold everything I had cause i started training construction, smithing and other non-combat skills and i haven't really trained combat a whole lot in the past year. I just sold my whole inventory to start 'fresh' again. Here are my stats: Strength - 85Defence - 93Attack - 89Constitution - 90Prayer - 55/70 I need advice on what armour to use when training, I'll most likely be training strength to 99. So far I own an abyssal whip and that is all. I need to know which of the following items should i get: Helmet: Amulet: Looking to get a FuryPlate: Legs: Shield: Looking to get DFS, what do you think?Ring: Looking to get Berserker ring, what do you think?Boots: Looking to get Bandos bootsWeapon: WhipCape: Wil attempt to get a fire cape All this adds up to about 50m, then I have to get what ever is missing in the blanks. My current budget is 78m. Edit: I'll be training on mainly dragons

Yeah, I'd go with a Saradomin Sword in that case. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
World
Thanks for the really quick replies guys, went on a little shopping spree and so far i'm atHelmet: Amulet: FuryPlate: Legs: Shield: Ring: Berserker ringBoots: DragonWeapon: WhipCape: Fire cape in the future Now i can't quite make a Full slayer helmet yet lol, any alternatives for now? And do you guys mean saradomin godsword or sword? I'm thinking of getting the godsword which won't require me to get a shield since it's two-handed i believe. If it's any help i'll be training on dragons...so should i get the DFS + a diff weapon?

And a whip doesn't have a strength option, so you'd have to train controlled. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
Sir_Squab
Whaaaaaaaaat? Scratch the saradomin sword if your training on dragons, unless you can make super antifires. Honestly, for str training at dragons, your best bet is probably dragon scimitar (or leaf bladed sword, if your fighting higher level dragons.) You DON'T want to get burnt by dragon fire. I'd say get the DFS and a dragon scimitar/leaf bladed sword if your training at dragons; again, that's if you can't use super antifires. If you CAN use super antifires, and you want to train str, SS (saradomin sword - not godsword) all the way. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. I'll use the DFS for dragons and the Saradomin sword for other monsters. I can't quite wield a dragon scimmy yet since I'm new to members and haven't really dony many quests (if any), but i'll work on my quests so I can get monkey madness done. Quyneax
I wouldn't get dfs unless you want to do a lot of tanking soon. That 30m is better spend on getting 70 prayer for piety, which will be a HUGE help for killing dragons. I'm talking 20-30% faster kills. Here's where i'm standing thanks to your guys' help Guthans helm (2.4m)Fury (15.7m)Bandos chestplate (22m)Bandos tassets (25m)Dragon boots (450k)Saradomin sword (8.5m)/Abyssal whip (3.4m)Ring - None yet but Berserker ring soon All prices were rough estimations but i spent just over 77.5m and i'm not going to lie my budgets real low now and all i need is a shield. I'm going to get the rune defender, get closer to 70 prayer as many have mentioned, along with full guthans (for bandits), and IF i have money left over i'll get the dfs. All that will have to wait until i can raise money to actually get all that so it might be a while...Any comments on the equipment i have so far or the shield i should get guys? Troacctid
You don't need tassets. Sell them, get Verac's skirt, and use the difference to get 70 prayer. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
crashNburn
DFS is really not needed in any training situation. All it provides is additional defense, which you shouldn't need. For offensive bonuses, rune defender > DFS, the 2 extra strength is not worth losing the substantial attack bonuses. Edit: and technically functions as a better anti-dragon shield I guess, in which case it's inferior to super antifires, and still not a good way to dump 30m.
