I am going to write a guest article for Tip.it

Featured Replies

So does anyone know GOOD links that will help me in writing a decent article? Thanks

That's kind of an ambiguous question. There are books and online resources that will give you tips on writing, but other than that, I don't think anyone's going to be able to help you.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

By setting up do you mean organizing your thoughts? You could also ask a teacher to help you, they may not get the content of the article but they would probably be more than willing to help you.

I find creating an outline, although a huge PITA, can be helpful in keeping my thoughts together. I tend to ramble otherwise. Be sure you read it to someone else/yourself before you feel that you're finished. I often find while writing things that while I know what I want to say, I don't always make my message clear enough. Don't be afraid of doing rough drafts, they can only get better from there

I do not understand the words outline and PITA, could you please illustrate it with a picture (I hate reading definitions). Anyhow my plan is first to make something called "Thinking map" (directly translated from norwegian to English). With this i can find out the different monuments which i will bring up in the paragraphs. And i will follow this. Lol, i just translated a word at a website and i got "Disposal, outline"! (outline is one of word i do not understand from your post Kim).

So this will be my outline/disposal of article:

INTRODUCTION:

Mention the subject shortly

MAIN PART:

Bring up the different monuments in the article

CONCLUSION:

Do a summary of the monuments from main part, as well express my view of the case.

Does it sound good Kim?

EDIT:

After downloading a free software called "FreeMind" to create "Thinking maps", i found out it's called "Mind map" in English.

Google is your best friend \:D/

Also school books about your native language use to have a chapter about writing essay's / papers etc.

edit: why does \:D/ not work :S

Kult med noen norske her også :)

Cool with someone norwegian too :)

Jepp, lag tankekart og skriv en disposisjon der du tar med det du skal ha med og setter det i rekkefølge. Har også tenkt å skrive en guest article her :) men har aldri orket bryet :S

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

You seem to have figured out what an outline is. PITA = pain in the [wagon].
