Skeletal Wyvern

Again a 'how to kill them' question. I have to kill around 70 of them and i've been trying to find some info about the best way to fight them, but 50% says range, 50% says mage. I'm thinking about ranging them with elemental shield, broad arrows and black d hide. Good idea, different set-up or mage them?

edit: or block them as task ^^

stats are straight 85's mellee, 79 range 74 mage (or something like that)

IMO: block them.

There's a great guide in the AOW about misunderstood monsters (wyvrens being one of them) but as far as I'm concerned, they're just not worth it.

give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever

Yeah, do them. Wear heavy melee gear and soul split (which you can't, so I guess you'll need more food). Just whip them, a tort full of food, piety, bank bones, enjoy many crimson charms. Use a cannon, too. If you slay on curses, leech defence (which you can't do; use piety) is kinda nice (I'm not sure if piety affects the cannon's accuracy, but the leech should). Anyway I'd recommend leech def + ss over piety + protect (turmoil being better than leech, of course).

I actually enjoy this task, because it's one of the few that Kuradel assigns that is actually a challenge. Having a DFS is a huge help on this task, otherwise you're stuck with a Body/Mind/Elemental shield. Use your best melee defence armour and bring a War tortoise full of food, plus bunyip after the tortoise runs out. However, you may need to do a couple of trips for this task. Or if you want money, bring two tortoise pouches, filling up the tortoise you have with bones as you also empty it of food.

Or just skip the task, not that big a deal and understandable considering your stats. They aren't low, but Wyverns are ridiculously easy w/ 95+ melees and Soul Split.
