THE WILDERNESS GUARDIANS TRIVIA CONTEST 2010

This isn't a publicity stunt or recruitment tactic.

I just want to bring some clans together, since we're not as unified as we used to be.

This is a great opportunity for many clans to mingle.

 

What's Happening?

My clan is hosting a trivia contest this Friday night.

Clans of any size form teams to answer questions that my bot will ask live in the WG IRC (in #wg_lobby, Server: irc.SwiftIRC.net)

Simply type the correct answer into the IRC channel to earn points.

The fastest answer gets the point - this stops people from Googling the answers.

There is only one round of 50 questions and will take approximately half an hour.

 

What's the Prize?

The winning individual will receive a 30-day subscription card of Runescape membership.

The code will be sent to them via PM.

The most creative answer (that isn't necessarily correct) gets two 76k's from me.

This isn't much, but it's about having fun. It's not all about the prizes.

 

When is it?

Friday, September 24th (tomorrow)

7:00pm EST

Midnight UK

9:00am Australian EST (Saturday)

7:00am West AU and SE Asia (Saturday)

 

What will be asked?

The categories will be split as follows:

 

1. TWENTY questions on real world trivia

- Music, Film and Media

- Science

- Geography and culture

- History

- Useless facts

 

2. FIFTEEN questions on Runescape

- Quests and Minigames

- NPC's and Monsters

- Cities and other areas

- Skills

- Jagex

 

3. FIFTEEN questions on Clans

- Clan world history

- Top clans

- PKing and recent run-ins

- Famous clanners

- General knowledge (capes, leaders, memes, CC's etc...)

 

What are the rules?

Excessive spam or name changing gets you kicked and banned by the bot.

Swearing is acceptable but only in moderation.

Flaming other clans should be minimal but I suspect it's going to happen.

As long as it doesn't get out of control we're all good.

 

To prove this is not a publicity stunt, not a single question will involve WG.

So yeah, come into #wg_lobby at that time if you can.
