How to advertise a new CC

I've wanted to make a CC based solely around RS knowledge for a while now.

I've been in through quite a few clans and CC's over the course of the years.

And frankly I'm just tired of getting griefed by people just because they don't share my interests.

It just seems there aren't any clans around based solely around the sharing of RS knowledge.

 

The trouble is, getting a CC like this off its feet is a little tough.

The CC's rather empty at the beginning, and it's hard to get a foundation set if there's not much activity in the CC.

So I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on good ways to advertise such a CC?

If you get the idea popular enough, word-of-mouth will probably work best. But starting off, I think your best bet may be making topics in popular forums and getting the name around by talking to people; to weed out unwelcome people, possibly keep the cc invite only.

I tend to agree with Shelby except for the part about making the cc invite only. If you'e wanting to get people to join then forcing them to get invited is going to be too much of a hassle for most to bother with. You can always get rid of unwanted influences when they appear and this way you aren't restricting any potential members. Other than the stickied thread for advertising clanchats and putting information about it in your signature I can't think of any advertising ideas.

I don't like the invite only thing either, personally I'd love to look at the clan chat but if I had to pm somebody to get an invite I'd probably just give up on the idea.

Maybe putting it on the rsof, or helping out those asking questions and tell them the clan chat would be a good place to gain further information, although arguably those asking questions wouldn't have much knowledge to share but it would still be nice to have more members.

I like this idea I am consantly telling people about stuff sometimes they don't belive them, I would be pleasued to sit in a clan like that when im on so I dont feel like im the best one at runescape there. <3: Which saadly is often true and sadly alot of arrogant people play and annoy me day to day as I play. :wall:

I'm doing my part to help you advertise. I'm not sure how often I'll be in there (I'm not really a cc person, I usually only use them when I'm looking for something) but I'll at least pop in occasionally.

Start off with popular forums and even try to get the owners of the forum to support it. From there, it's just word-of-mouth.
