My god, same thing happened to me. If you can calculate the amount of time it takes for your pet to grow 10% (or however much percent as long as you can put it accurately in terms of minutes/1%), you could find how long it takes for your pet to reach ~90%. Then just set an alarm in RL that goes off after that time is reached, giving yourself a bit of cushion in case you can't do it right away. Don't forget to reset the alarm. ~It's Super Effective!
