Eh. I'm still thinking that using IRC may be a bad idea, because it's easier for the mod to miss a player's actions and vice versa. Also, if someone's internet spontaneously dies as mine often has a habit of doing, then the mod will still think that they're on and able to play, which may or may not result in their character getting killed.

Also, doing it on a basis of "actions," where player A can only one thing until player B does something, kinda takes away from the game. Especially if everyone's waiting on player B to come back from DCing when, in reality, he got sucked into watching Kill Bill Volume 2.

PvP should be disallowed or at least discouraged and in case of an important player disapearing a stand-in should be elected with the owner of the player being allowed to decide wether or not the actions that the stand-in did should have had effect on the character.

Say Retech leaves, then I was chosen to play as Jen because she was important to the story, when Retech returns he should get to chose if Jen should be as he left her or as I left her later, but anything done to the story can not be reverted.

People make all these complicated rulings...Which I tend to ignore entirely.

Just play the game...

If your internet dies then your character now has 'absence seizures'...

Psudeo-realtime gameplay works fairly well on forum or IRC.

Turn-based gameplay works well on both when the mod and the player use short, sharp, sentences...rather than complicated actions.

Though, the one thing I don't like about the Dungeoneering concept, when done by other people, is that they have a tendency to roll for every action...

This isn't runescape! We can swing the pick at the Rune Rock at level 1 without impailing ourselves through the eye.

Rolling should be used ONLY when we are not sure how the player would do at a specific action...We can assume that the player can walk, hold objects and other basic things...If you are feeling mildly sadistic then you can, occasionally, have the player fail at a basic task...But when there is a 1/20 chance of dying while attempting breathing...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

My posts would still remain semi-descriptive though >.> I don't do 3 word actions. Nope, NEVAR!

That is part of the point...small posts that contain 1 action and no description can be made fast, while long, lovingly crafted posts, can be done slower....Balancing out, somewhat.

I would have caught on if you had just said this to begin with. *facepalms at self*
