Bandos Tanking

My_Eggs

Recommended Posts

So tonight I'm going to my first ever LS Bandos event with my clan. Chances are I'll be the tank since I'm the highest level in the clan and one of the few with 99 defence. I'm just looking for some advice on what gear to wear while being the tank. All my melee stats are 99, and I have 97 summoning so I'll be bringing a pack yak. I also have overloads. I've got a BCP, which I'll probably wear, and I'll be using my Chaotic Rapier. I just need some advice on what to wear in the other equipment slots, and a good inventory to use. There will most likely be 5-10 of us going if that really matters. Oh, and I have about 10m to spend on gear, so DFS is out of the question.

(I am experienced at Bandos, I've soloed about 100 kills or so (Soloed a bcp and tassets so far)).

Thanks.

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

I do not have much personal experience with tanking for bandos, but what I do know is that you should be wearing guthan's and preferably attacking one of the minions once you have gotten Graardor on you.

Also bring a unicorn pouch and some scrolls if you plan to stay long enough that your yak will be empty.

Slayer; it's just what I do.
Thanks Hugger 88 for the awesome siggy!

Depends how long the trip will be. If you guys want to stay for like 8 hours, then yeah, Guthans on a minion will be ideal.

However, if everyone will be bored a few hours in, you should be fine in max ranged defense gear. Bandos/barrows armor, BSS if you can't get ckite or dfs, your rapier, etc. If you can use overloads that owns, because you can brew and still be potted. If you don't want to overload (it is kind of expensive), just bring brews and restores the old fashioned way and forget about boost potions. Bring a couple extra yaks and then a unicorn or two for after your yak is empty.

If you've soloed a lot, it's extremely straightforward. You just do what you would do solo except take less damage and worry less about dealing out damage. Very easy.

Just wanted to point this out, but obby shield has 13 more ranged def than BSS, and a str bonus.

As well as being cheaper.

You should wear full bandos with Torag's helmet, Fury, Dragon boots, Fire cape, Obsidian shield (good ranged defence and +5 strength bonus. Result? Offensive as well as Defensive. Bandos can change target if someone's wartortoise or attack familiar attacks him, so it will make a "Tank gear" waste.

Just tank all of his attacks, and I WOULD SAY not go under him to eat food, because that could potentially make boss change target. If i am wrong (please correct me).

War tortoises don't attack Bandos, terrorbirds do. But the point remains. I don't think fire cape + fury + bandos provides enough prayer bonus, though. Ardy 3 might be better for that, although it has lower ranged defence, or a soul wars cape.

All DFS threads turn into efficiency flame wars >.>

>OP asks "why use DFS?"

>everyone says "there is no reason"

>someone says "stop bashing people who use DFS, efficiency troll ass clown"

>thread is now a flame fest
