Beginner Dung question

I am 51 DG all from FOG. I wanna get exp for the bonecrusher thing to use to level prayer while slaying. I prefer to do DG alone because I can only play on my schedule so a team will have to be impromptu or impossible.

Can someone expain DG to me, and how to go about this? I see posts about floors and size rooms, and none of that makes any sense to me. I have only actually tried DG once, and died cause I couldnt beat a boss.

http://forum.tip.it/...oneering-guide/

^ That's a comprehensive guide to Dungeoneering, but the problem with guides like this, no matter how well written they are, is that they attempt to provide very general advice to a very specific person. It's not like Woodcutting where you can simply say, "Choking Ivy provides y exp/hr, you need an axe, go to Taverley, 99 will take x hrs". People have different styles, different preferences.

It's probably better to ask specific questions. What exactly are you unsure about?

When you are modifying your dungeon, it will provide a check mark next to any floor you have done. Do all the floors you havent done. That gives you the most prestige. When you cant do anymore floors, reset, repeat. Every time you reset, you have to again, do all the floors to build prestige back up.

Died to a c1 floor 1 boss...

I found it more fun to figure out the secrets of the bosses, if you are unlike that then you should use that guide that was posted earlier; and focus on the boss section.

It is really difficult to explain dungeoneering in a nutshell, you will need the basic understanding, so my advise would be to muck around in the dungeon, when you come to the boss look it up, and cruise on through.

Same with puzzle/challenge rooms as bosses

You get exp by finishing a dungeon.

Never use c2-c5, there is no reason to do so.

When you start a party, you can check your floor progress by clicking on the "set floor" button. Do all the floors that do NOT have a checkmark next to it, and when you can't do anymore, press "reset" and start again.

If your current dungeoneering level allows you to access a level, but you can't see it on your floor screen, then you must complete the floor before it again (best to do this on c1, as it is the fastest) before you can access it.

Most people do small c1s (either solo or 5:1), and do larges for their last 5-10 floors, but since you're only 51, it will be hard to find large floors, so I suggest you solo until you get to level 60 ish. Then you can team up with others for floors 25-30 large.

Also, 5:1 means a party of 5, but the dungeon difficulty is set to 1 person, it will give you very easy monsters, and this is done to speed up c1 rushes. 5:5 is almost always the ratio for large dungeons because it gives a bonus 20% exp roughly.

Once you get the hang of everything, start keying your own dungeons on w117, and eventually you'll get better.

Floor- Basically the level of Daemonheim you are in. The higher the floor, the deeper underground you are. Every 2 levels you can unlock a new floor.

Floor size- The size of the floor, small is the smallest, medium is the middle size, large is the largest. Pretty simple. Larges give a hefty bonus to xp, so it's recommended that you join up with 4 other players for your last 5 or so floors and do larges.

Prestige- You want to get the highest prestige possible, because your xp is the average between your base floor xp and prestige. You get a high prestige by doing every floor you can and resetting. After you reset, do every floor again, and when you finish those floors, reset again, repeat. Don't worry about prestige any more than that. Anything else just makes it more complicated and confusing.

Dungeoneering XP = (Average of Base Floor XP & Prestige) + Modifiers. Base floor xp is the xp for the floor you do, F1 is the lowest, f60 is the highest. Prestige is explained above. Modifiers include not dying (especially do not die), floor size, and complexity. For the best xp, do Complexity 1 rushes for all but the last 10 or so floors, this part is for speed since it gives nominal xp, then do c6 duo meds for the next 5, and lastly do c6 5:5 (5 players in a 5 person dungeon) larges.

C3 is a good place to train fishing along with prestige rushing. Daemonheim fishing spots are like 200k xp/hr (they last maybe 15 fish tops, but every bit counts).

If you want a bonecruncher to train prayer, sure, but it'll be very very slow levelling. I highly recommend getting a team of friends at level 70 or so (the earlier the better) and get 85 dungeoneering quite quickly. With a chaotic rapier and frost dragons, you'll be able to get prayer xp far faster (NOT with a bonecruncher).

Something along the q&A's in this post:

I'm low leveled DG from TOG as the OP. I started doing C2 rushes, as the penalty is slightly lower and dungeons are still easy. I did a 5 floor rush when I started the skill months ago, giving me a prestige of 5. I reached floor 7 (for the first time that is), should I reset after every new floor to "lock" prestige or does it increase with every new floor I unlock?

It increases with every floor you unlock.
