Quyneax - Didn't realize I could use the boatman without completing any of the Frem-related quests. I'll scope that out, thanks!

You'll probably need someone to go ahead of you to keep the monsters off you though. Even with prayers it's easy to get one hit at 100 lp.

Yes, good point. You need to pray protect magic at all times to avoid dying to the wallasakis, but on the way there you'll be ranged and meleed, so you might need some saradomin brews/guthix teas.

Wallasalki's drop herb seeds, and if you can manage to get there, while having prayer to keep you alive, I would think that you wouldn't lose too much with cannoning. Not sure how many cannonballs you'd use per hour there, might be 2-4k cannonballs, average of 1m per hour lost on cannonballs.

As I mentioned earlier: Just do broad bolt fletching, pick up drops, refill cannon, and you might be looking at a non-loss. If you want to, you can even get the dungeoneering rewards, like the necklace + bonecrusher since you will ONLY be needing prayer boost. And it can save you fortunes/time (I mean, less banking is good isn't it? You need to find a partner to help you in less frequently)

Also, wear monk robes so prayer will last longer.

Give a man a lighter, and he will be warm for a while.

Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Either i missed it, or it was never mentioned, but do you care about prayer levels? because if you could pray melee, that would open up more spots than if you just had to safespot it.

On a semi-side note, if you can pray mage, you can do your banshee task, unless they fixed this. The banshees in the smoky well (smoking kills req?) will attack with mage, and the smoke will bring your hp down to 1, but not kill you. If you pray mage, then the banshees cant hit you, and the well wont kill you. I remember doing this before i had access to the slayer helm

im assuming u mean the mighty banshees and if so praying mage wont work because they use a Mage-Based melee attack meaning u would need protect melee not prot mage. Also you need the facemask+earmuffs or slayer helm to protect from the banshee's screams so you have to at least get to the point of the quest where u learn to make the facemask+earmuffs first.

Thanks for the comments on Waterbirth, I'm definitely going to check that out. Seems pretty risky and dangerous but if it's faster/easier than most methods, I think that deserves some serious consideration.

tiger - I have 70 Prayer (years ago, I accidentally did a quest that raised my prayer level, so I decided to level it up) so that's an additional benefit. And jax0n is right, I have to do a portion of the quest before even allowed to enter the well, so that's a pretty much no-go. The ONLY banshees I have access to are in Slayer Tower, which is a no-cannon zone. I can't successfully use the Recoil method there, as I mentioned before. So if anyone knows a way around this dilemma, I'd be most grateful :-P

There is a youtube video showing another 10 hp pure cannoning them, so it should be possible. Also, you want a high attack bonus to hit them, so bring a bow (with no arrows), monk's robes, and the prayer necklace. I think you could do with very little pray pots that way.

Ranged gear does not affect the cannon, unless you happen to be ranging. E.g. full arma/ranging ammy/ranger's boots won't help the cannon if you are using a bronze dagger. I know it works because my cannon stopped hitting as soon as my handcannon blew up <_<.

So, the best gear would be the best dragonhide you can wear (or snakeskin) with a sighted bow, but a godsword or chaotic maul would also be good. You don't actually have to hit with your weapon, but you must have the most accurate attack style selected (not crush on a gs, for example).

You need to do Smoking Kills for the most epic cannon spot (cave crawlers) but if you somehow managed you'd have access to around 1 effigy per 70 minutes, plus charms (mostly green however). I think, that one of the waterbirth monsters offered good blue charms, but I don't have details. Finally, black demons are pretty good as well, dropping mostly crimson charms. Fire giants drop gold charms a lot.

^ This is right the cannon only uses the highest accuracy bonus you have. Depending on what you think is best you could soul wars the 75 attack and buy a gs (if you don't have it already) or buy the 10k dg token lbs. I would do the latter because the longbow sight is fun to play with

Woops, i meant the abby spectres...my bad. I have never killed the banshees except for the quest, and the spectres are the only thing i go to the well for, so my mind just automatically thought of those.
