Should I get 80 summoning or should I save the charms for later.

Featured Replies

I am level 71 summoning and I have like 100 blues, 2.5k crimsons, 3k golds, and like 1.8k greens. My question is, should I spend them on 80 summoning or should I just wait for the charms for 88? ( iIchecked, i have enough charms for 80.) I am slaying currently and plan on getting 99 att and def. (im 98 str atm w00t!) so I am in no hurry at all to spend them tbh.

My concerns with getting 80 is that it will cost me a lot of money (its not an issue but I would rather not lose the cash if I get no immideate benifit from getting 80) I dont fish or mine anymore so the lobster and golem are of no current use to me (99 fishing and 60 something mining though)

So should i get 80 or save the charms for later? thanks.

It doesn't matter. There's no difference between spending some now and the rest later, and spending them all at once.

well I was wondering if maybe one of the titans would be of some sort of use. because if there is no reward or benefit for getting 80 summoning then why bother doing it till you have enough charms for a worth while level.

In most situations a beast of burden is preferable to a titan. The only place I think it has use is in combination with guthans at DKs, but if you do that you're sure to get crashed. I would recommend waiting.

I dunno, I really liked using titans scroll to heal with instead of food. More useful then bunyip imo because it heals when you want, and does some damage if your in multi. Imo, you should get it know, your planning to get it sooner or later. Up to you though.

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

i just did the same think recently, i had the charms for 80 from 73 so i did it. i spent all my golds on barkertoads and crims on granite lobs. just trade in the pouches for 70% shard refund and just sell the shards or use them as junk. either way u get basically 70% of ur money back so it should only cost u around 4m or so

IMO I don't really see any major benefits in saving up charms to use later. I don't think there is any rumour of summoning update in the near future (?) or any major changes in the way you train the skill. Also bonus xp weekend doesn't really help summoning that much anymore. So there is no real benefit in saving up the charms other than maybe doing all your training at once :-| .

And I find the titans pretty useful. I generally use them for multicombat tasks and they do help, ofcourse not as much as the higher titans but it is better than nothing. They are probably the lowest level combat familiars that are actually helpful.

Well, I'd say level up, not for the titans, but mainly to press huge costs when you have everything for like 90+ summoning. It's best to do it in batches (level up to where the money permits you, then swap/sell pouches and recuperate money).

Thing is, the elemental titans are not thaaat useful. I remember hitting the level and I ended up using them scarsely. For slayer tasks, you are better off with a bunyip (unless you have a rather low def level and find that for some slayer tasks you need a more controlled form of healing), and for most bosses, they don't heal that enormeously (uni is quite a better improvement). For bosses, the main concern is the 3 scroll limit. It means with a full summ spec bar you can do 3 (or 4?) scrolls for healing, after that you need to wait for it to restore. So for bosses that can do quite some damage, they won't be enough. I remember this being a problem when I used them for TD's.

I'd just use all your greens and golds. You can make the best pouches with those (fruit bats to scrolls and barker toads). With blues and crimsons you'd be better off waiting until you can make higher pouches, if you intend to go for 90+ anyway. The best blue pouch is the lava titan unless you want to pay lots of cash for the small additional xp a geyser gives you. However gathering obsidian charms also takes time, so I'd just use any obby charms from slayer. For crims, swamp titans, iron titans and yaks are the best to make, or rock lobsters.
