Need help with slayer equipment

Okay, firstly these are my stats

 

82 attack

85 strength

81 defence

66 summoning

61 prayer

67 slayer

 

I'm trying to get 99 str and 68 summoning for a bunyip, but I only have like 200+ gold charms and 180+ green charms. I have a SGS and about 2M worth of cash

 

Should I sell my sgs and buy bcp and tassets and use a d scim once I get the charms to get 68 summoning, or should I try something else?

Sell your SGS, buy Verac's Skirt and a Barrows Melee top (Not Verac's) and a Sara Sword to train str, A Korasai's sword would be a cheap alternative as well. Also use the cash to buy the levels for an Enhanced Excalibur, but whatever you do sell your SGS since it's useless anyway.

If you find yourself still needing healing on slayer tasks, work for an enhanced excalbur. If you don't need any extra healing at all, opt for an offensive spec weapon, at your current budget, there aren't very many options though.

The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets):

• [For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip)
  
• Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top)
  
• [Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3
  
• Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune)
  
• Dragon boots (rune boots)
  
• Amulet of fury (glory)
  
• Rune defender
  
• Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring)

Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +15 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +25 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit).

 

Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better.

 

Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning):

• 68 summoning - bunyip
  
• 81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier
  
• 89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires
  
• 95 prayer - turmoil and soul split
  
• 88 summoning - unicorn
  
• 96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload
  
• 99 summoning - steel titan
  

I'm sure I missed something but this is most of it.

+1 prayer is useful though, and the defence does help with tanking some tasks. Torso also takes time to obtain, and you can't get anything back from that. Might be better to earn a few million gp in that time and just use bcp.

1) +1 prayer barely matters. 2) If he's starts using piety, the defence won't do a big difference. 3) He could wear proselyte body or a barrows platebody instead. Hell, Verac's top might even have uses.

you cannot ever sell back a torso, making the time you took to get it impossible to reobtain. You can always sell a BCP, you're essentially just borrowing it until you sell it for something else.

BCP will only drop in price, since there's more coming into the game then leaving the game, plus 4 strength bonus doesn't change much.

I'm surprised people still think BCP is worth it. No. It's not worth anything so just sell that piece of crap item and get a decent one.

My personal advice would be use a Fighter Torso, Verac Skirt, Saradomin Sword or Dragon Scimitar with a Rune Defender. Make sure you have a Slayer Helmet or Black Mask and that you are using Super Sets on every task.

The BCP is not a piece of crap. It's a luxury item, something you buy once you have all the essentials. Also luxury items which you can live without are zerker rings (once you can use kuradel's dungeon, you won't be using this much), tassets, DFS, etc. Invest money in levels first, then items.

Basically, every 125+ cb with 80+ slayer disagrees with you. Bandos is far from crap.

I'm going to start on While Guthix Sleeps quest and I plan on getting 60 herblore, which I'll use with a colored stew from evil dave's basement to achieve the 65 herblore requirement. I have 52 herblore at the moment, which is the best method for achieving 60 herblore?

Super attacks are cheap xp, decent speed. I highly recommend getting 65 anyway, as stewing is a real pain, and totally worth doing for overloads, but not for a lowly level 65.
