Smithing with scroll of efficiency?

Is it actually efficient? Or this there a better way? If it's the best, what should I smith 72-93 smithing?

Well on the best smithing training methods is addy plate bodies with sc hammers. So at a guess I'd say the scroll is deffo worthwhile.

The scroll of efficiency is very nice with smithing 3-bar items that you lose very little on. Otherwise gold is better. Addy plates are not efficient.

Gold ores: 120k exp/hr smelting while superheating

Addy platebodies: 285k exp/hr smithing at Varrock anvil

 

You could also look at addy platebodies with SC hammers, but just the above stats should give you a pretty good idea that gold ores aren't efficient for players who may have high enough incomes to justify doing addy platebodies.

OP is 72-93 smithing(89 needed for addy plates)

 

Mine/superheat gold or smelt/superheat gold until 89 and then either continue or do addy plates. The scroll is definitely worth it when you get 99 smithing and want to get more xp(as rune 2h/legs are the most efficient method).

This plan, except isn't scroll worth it before 99 as well? Though the effect on platebodies isn't as dramatic as the effect on 3-bar items, it still helps, and look at it this way: you'll never lose the ability once bought, so if you eventually want to train more, why not have it already?
