Noxx
I know we're all bored of this topic but i know when it gets to Fight Caves i can use all the help i can get. I also know this is a community where players have defeated Jad in almost every way you can think of. So this really is the place to ask.Anyway i want to get my Fire Cape again...for the 5th time... I want to Melee Jad. I'm not doing it to save time or anything. I am just doing it because i think the less time i spend Prayer Switcing the less time i have to mess up. Problem is i have no idea what to really do.I can Melee the whole cave no problem, but soon as the 360's come out to play i have no idea how to melee them. I have no desire to get so far then get... well owned. So first question, how do i handle the 360's?Second question. How do i hadle Jad? Lets assume he spawns at Italy. I was thinking of ranging him ill he is down to 75% health or so. Retreat, switch to Void and Weild Claws. Rush him with Overload, Turnmoil and Melee/Mage/Range/SS Curse (don't know which to use). If the specs fail... well thats where i don't know what to do. I only have whip + d def. No chaotic weapons. Should i fall back and range? or should i try whip it out while prayer switching? I really have no clue.Any help would be good.
Sy_Accursed
Meleeing 360s is pure suicide.Even people who melee Jad, to the best of my knowledge, do no melee the 360s. As for meleeing Jad to avoid prayer switching and thus mistakes not gonna happen. Meleeing jad requires far more focus than basic prayer switching as it invovles prayer switching, potting, weapon switching and running/hiding all at the right moments. Noxx
Well it is possible to take him out with 2 good specs when he's down to 75% health, right?

Noxx
I'm not too excited about having to Melee Jad all the way. I'm kind of hoping to get him low enought for a potential KO. If i fail i really don't want to hsve a fist fight. I'd rather run like a girl, hide, and try again after spec fills up. Or i'd evn rather take a few steps back and just finish Jad off with Range. I'm pretty slow on switching so i wish to spend as little time possible at melee range.

Meleeing is faster and pretty easy to learn. Getting to the 360's is very easy anyway. Just load up a few pray pots and monkfish or so, or EEE spec, and practice on the real thing. Noxx
Lets assume i don't get the 360 Melee down. I'll take Ranged gear to range them. So i'll have Melee + Ranged gear when it comes to Jad. I know the point of Meleeing Jad is to avoid the healers. They usually come out when he's down to about 75% hp right? So if i can do that and whip out the claws just as they start making their way over, with good specs i should be able to take down jad in a flash. I justt have no back up plan... A backup plan is to have a whip/rapier in for another hit, and hopefully he won't kill you; Veng can help weaken him too. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
Quyneax
There is no backup plan. You can either try ranging normally or meleeing normally afterwards. If ranging, bring just range top + legs + bow or something, don't go all out with boots and rings and stuff :P. But I guess you could think of that yourself. Noxx
Don't really care about the bonus Slayer exp too much. I'm not a very efficient Slayer seeing as i am in no rush to get 99. I just want to get my cape back. Also, i was thinking of just using void. A lot easier. I'll use Zerker (i) + D Def and have Archer (i) and Unholy Book in invo for when i range. I'm not too worried about the low def bonus on either setups. I can use Super Prayer instead of the normal then pop a few more brews in the Invo. Also EEE + SS should keep me alive. Guess i'll try get him down to just before half HP (which usually isn't too hard) run back to a safe spot, switch to claws, gather myself then go for the double spec. If that fails (which shouldnt) i'm likely to be 2 or 3 hits away from getting the KO, so i'll pull out the whip and let the whip finish the job. Sound like it could work? Quyneax
Sounds like it *could* work, but also sounds less attractive than a simple bandos setup. Since you won't be able to ss off the 90's in void very well. Also, don't forget a void range helmet :P. Noxx
Bandos would be hot, but an 8m cashpile limits me to second best. I assume void is secondbest? Only other gear i have is a V Skirt/Helm and Dhide.
Bladewing
what happened to all your monees D: since you aren't comfortable with fight caves i recommend meleeing the 22s, 45s, 90s, and 180s. you should range the 360s. for jad i would just melee him the entire way or range him the entire way. gear switching is way more likely to cause you to mess up your prayers than anything else, so the more you do it the more risk you take. if you melee jad, just pray melee, then switch to ranged/mage as you seem him do them (there is a delay in which you have time to switch prayers for these, unlike melee for which the damage and the animation come simultaneously). then switch back to pray melee after the attack hits you. there is a glitch that if you finish with claws you do not receive the slayer xp boost. you should start with claws then switch to your rapier. Noxx
Alrighty. I'm going to try it with Claws + Whip (seeing as Rapier is still 170k tokens away). I just need to wait for a friend to come online so i can get his claws. Then once i'm done i'll give some feedback. But thanks for the response. I know this is a worne out topic so the replies mean a lot.
