Today i got 81 herblore and made all of the nests and toadflax pots into sara brews. I ended up looking and seeing that the unfinished pot is only 4k while the crushed nests are like 5.5k! So I decided that I would hunt the mole and turn in it's claws and skins to wyson so I can make more potions as I try to raise my herblore level.

My question is, What is the optimal set-up for hunting the mole? I will be using whatever is the best suggested one that I can so any help will be much appreciated.

Any suggested setups that work better than prossy with sw cape? and I have access to pretty much any weapon that you can think of except chaotics so any help with that would be much appreciated. =D :thumbsup: Thanks for everyone's help.

Personally when ever i solo the mole i use a zamorkain spear and bandos using a war tort and praying melee

The fastest method I found was full dharok, melee protect, and a spirit terrorbird with plenty of tireless run scrolls. Use nitroglycerin or unidentified liquid to get your hp very low, then throw up melee protect and piety and go to town. I also found that it sped up kills to put a cannon up close to where the mole spawns, to help deal some fast damage early. I've tried a zspear, and I enjoyed dharoks more, but the 17m pricetag might be a bit too much. In that case, zs is the way to go.

Well properly the best setup is probably elite void with crapier, dragon defender etc., speccing with halberd (as the mole will dig every spec, speed is less of an issue; claw specs are interrupted by digging I think?). Mole hunting is really not worth it, but if you have to, you can locate the mole with the elite falador shield iirc.

Okay, so I have elite void, and a z spear from questing and slayer. :thumbsup: I don't care much for dharoks, as I just dislike using it. I can't get the elite falador diary done, but I am working on seers atm, so should i use the lamps from that on pray, or herblore (i plan on having about 88 when i complete this).

So to conclude I should wear:

Full elite void melee

sw cape?

fury

z spear

d boots

combat ring

 

Are there any changes that I should make or swaps; or is this probably the best I can do without chaotics, and extremes atm?

There is NO reason to hunt the mole when you don't have the Fally elite diary done, it's seriously miserable.

 

If you insist on doing it anyway, definitely set up a cannon where it spawns. Not very expensive because it won't shoot many balls per kill, but will get you a LOT more kills/hr.

I'm not sure what 'combat ring' you mean, but generally, dragonstone (i)(if you don't like the risk; shouldn't be an issue) or berserker (i) is best, otherwise a regular berserker ring.

 

I'd take ardougne cloak 3 over sw cape as you already have 21 prayer bonus with that + elite void + fury + zspear, and +6 stab is always nice.
