FOG, Battle robes and Surgebox

Before going back to p2p I plan on getting a couple of goals done first

-Mine iron for superheating for 93 magic and sell for money for SOL

-Play FOG until I get 2750 tokens

-Dungeeoneer for ASN and maybe surgebox

Here are my questions though

1. My usual tactic for FOG is to wall hug until they find me then either househide/tank. (I'm not a noob, I win frequently with this tactic) But that takes a LOT of time and getting 2750 tokens will not be easy.

Would those who have played FOG alot tell me if it would be more economical (more Tokens/hour) to just Tank all the time? A few more losses but more games played overall?

2. Whats the street price of battle robes (so I can calculate a gp/FOG token and to tell myself how much money I am making while getting them because frankly, FOG is slow)

3. Does SOL/Battle robes save the runes that are already IN the surgebox?

^^^ Nvm There is no way I'm getting 70 rc

4.With battle robes, ASN, What should I get (and prepare for as a f2p gather money/quest requirements) for boots, gloves, shield, cape, ring?

Um, first off. Consider just ranging in F2P. So much easier, half the damn people are newbies just trying to get free mage exp. Dunno if the new air spell changed that though..

Last I checked battle robes were 10m on the street. Although getting from the GE isn't impossible. And, tbh, I could be completely off on the street price.

Boots: infinity boots for maging. You should only need, er....2M? Whatever the current GE price is >.> Ring is seers ring. Cape is a Godcape, you'll need 37 prayer, few prayer potions, runes.... shouldn't be too hard to beat the mage arena.

Gloves, the best gloves are barrow gloves. But those require a lot of questing. Beat as much of Recipe for Disaster as you can, or just get infinity gloves.

Tbh, I don't think you should let 70RC stand in the way of a surgebox. If you want the surgebox, get 70RC and don't let it stand in the way.

On the other hand, I think surgeboxes are rather useless to begin with.... (Except in DG. They're sexy there. Yeah.)

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

All i can really help you with it your FOG tactics. Soon as you grab the rock run to the "inner circle" where you receive i thin 9 or 10 charges at a time. I haven't played FOG in a while so i don;t quite remember. Anyway the reason i use this tactic is because the avg. FOG player wil think you are going to wall hug, so he's going to run on the outside and look for you against the wall. Chances are you will already have a good amount of charges before he finds you. After that, run into the centre and hide behind a house until he gets close. Walk into the house then. If the house teleports you to another house like it should, run out of the house and away from the centre, meaning run to the wall. Soon as you get to the wall use your tele orb and run to the opposite wall you used the orb at. Once again stand in the inner circle where you get 9 or 10 charges and wait till you can see the player. Then what u usually do is hide behind houses and use them soon as the player gets close.

Now i'm no pro but i do have ~21k rating so it's not like i'm a total fool.

For FoG, just standing in the center and tanking in F2P is really the easiest and best way to get tokens. Most other players do the same, and if they don't, bind spells and maple shortbows are your friend.

Even though your stats aren't that high, you should still win the majority of your games. As most people in F2P FoG don't know what they're doing/or are just low levels training mage.

If you run into someone who is clearly going to beat you, don't draw out the fight. Quicker fights means faster tokens. If you're losing a match, the best thing to do is quickly end it to get on to your next fight(Though don't forfeit because that nerfs your tokens for your next game).

I got my battle robes off the GE, rather easily I must add, I don't think there's a street price anymore.

Same here. Mine bought at max after less than a day.

For equipment - infinity boots, barrows gloves, mages' book (or unholy book if 6m is too much), Mage arena cape, ring of life (I'm assuming you're bursting)

Ok so only 275 tokens and a boatload of iron ore.

I hate rc, its sooooooooo boring and slow. What is it like only 40k/hr at zmi? And then Its around only 15k-20k/hr for f2p

You know, I don't recall him mentioning bursting at all. In fact, he mentioned the surgebox, which is most definitely not bursting o_o

Its ok, I was thinking more along the lines of surging metal drags and slayer tasks but I'll try bursting too

I wasnt planning on stopping at 275 tokens btw

Don't waste your time with surgebox.

You can't save runes with it via SOL or battle robes.

I was very disappointed and never use it.

Farseer shield would be a better buy.

I love mine.

The final blow to the surgebox, I guess.

I wouldn't get the farseer shield, unless you had rapier-maul-crossbow-staff-arcstream and every nifty slayer upgrade (herbicide, bonecruncher) and all decent scrolls (life, cleansing, efficiency) and all random stuff (spirit cape, pet, prayer necklace). Well perhaps not that late, but it's no comparison to any of the chaotics weapons you can get.
