82-96 magic

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I decided that I needed to get 96 magic. However, I need 7.145.735 xp for this lofty level. Around how much will it cost stringing? And, what should I string, just gold ammies? Also, I've got 11m cash, and around 25m or so in herblore supplies that I can sell. Should I sell them, or should I go and try to make more money somehow? However, I'm kinda really bad at making money, so might take a while.

Also, what's a (kind of) good money-maker at my stats?

I was thinking either blue dragons, or abby spectres. Good? Not so good?

Thanks in advance!

Don't sell your herb supplies for magic levels. Use them up to get at least 85, that'll help you make some money easier.

As for cost, it depends on which method you use. I've been Stringing Jewelry for a little bit. It's afkable (one click will do the entire inventory), and it only costs the price of two astrals. There's also plank-make which, if you use it with Mahogany, you could potentially profit (last I checked). Then there's also the most commonly recommended, bursting rock lobs, as that'll give you magic experience, and plenty of charms for summoning experience (and Constitution experience). That costs quite a bit, I believe it's around the 1.2-1.3m per 1k bursts? Correct me if I'm wrong. There's a guide that broke down how much experience they got per 1k bursts, I'll find it and link you quick.

As for money-makers. You can try green drags, get 85 dunge and try frosties, possibly DKS, or even TD's.

Oops, forgot to say that I would be stringing for my levels. If I get 85 herb, would it be worth it to camp at iron drags in hopes of a visage drop?

Also, I seem to fail horribly at tds, getting a kc of around 2. Can someone suggest a good guide/set up for them?

Thanks for the help though!

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=lunarmagic_calc.htm Input your name, Get stats, put the target level to 96. Find string jewelry, take how many casts and multiply that by 2. That'll give you how many astrals you need, then just multiply that by the current price of an astral.

From what I've heard, TD's takes a bit of getting use to. http://forum.tip.it/topic/211163-tormented-demons-solo-and-duo-guide/ I'd follow that guide, and just practice on them.

Plank Make (on mahogany) gp/exp -1.41 * 7.145.735 = ~10.1 mil.

exp/hr for plank make maxes at 165 k/hr. which equates to ~43 hours of play time.

Other methods you could use at the cost of more money.

Hunter Kit will cost ~36 mil and save you about 5 hours. Not really worth it imo.

Both of the Following Assume a Staff of Light and Tome of Frost

Ice Burst at Ape Atoll will cost ~25 mil and will save you about 20 hours.

Ice Burst at Rock Lobsters will cost ~ 31 mil and will cost you about 20 hours of game play however you will receive a lot of crimsons for summoning.

Good luck on your goal.

Cheers!

Money Making

1. Herb farming. If you don't have the farming level you can reach ~30-35 farming from quests alone. At that point spend the little bit of money to get to 38 farming and begin farming toadflax. Each run should net ~100 k profit (more if you utilize Juju potions/scroll of life from dungeoneering) and should be done every 2 hours. Unlocking the patch from My Arm's Big Adventure is highly suggested as it is always disease free. Consult Grimy's Spreadsheets for the most profitable herbs to farm...

2. Manage Thy Kingdom. Finish the quests to unlock this activity and consult...

...for where to place your workers. Minimum profit per day is ~200 k for near zero effort.

3. Dailies. There are tons of shops which you can buy stock from and sell on the GE for profit, along with numerous other activities you can do to bring in a profit. Consult this guide for a complete list of things you have available.

or if you are a tip.it loyalist...

http://forum.tip.it/topic/254632-daily-activities/

With all of the above you can count on minimum 1 mil per day depending on how many dailies you have unlocked and which herbs you farm etc. for about an hours worth of work a day. Stay consistent and your cash pile will grow.

Lastly in between herb farming runs do whatever you want, its a game after all. This time can be used to make additional money.

Hmm, thanks! But, don't I need to know the price of strung/unstrung ammies in order to use that calc?

I think I'll give tds another try soon, see if I can get more than 2 kills a trip.

Not unless they changed recently. Just a few weeks ago, strung and unstrung ammies were the same price (and I was getting them right away at med).

Wow. That's a lot of stuff, thanks very much! I'll get to work farming (again, I kinda left that off) and I'll get on my kingdom.

Saw your edit on string jewelery, cost for that just in casts is ~15 mil. Not sure on exp/hr though.

I want to say it was around 100k/hour. It was a little while ago when I did it though. You could combine String Jewelry with Hunter Kit (they're the same price if you use a mud staff, worth it in my opinion) for faster xp/hour at no extra loss. You have to pay attention though.

(Also, stringing will get you about 5k crafting xp an hour lol. I found that out when I gained a crating level going from 80-85 magic)

For tds, use something like: black hide, neit, fury, sw cape, snake boots, diamond/dstone (i), barrows gloves, ddefender, rcbow, darklight, whip, one (extreme) set w/ range, 3-4 ppots, rest rocktail or shark or so, ee to spec and a bunyip/tort. You really won't do very well until you have a unicorn though.

Seirously, you will be so much happier if you burst rock lobs. your summoning is quite low and you will get at least 88 summoning if you burst it all.

But, I don't have the cash to get battle robes/sol, and I can't get that cash fast, sadly. If I did have the cash for battle robes, I fail at fog, and I don't get tokens that fast, so thats a no go.

I also have no experience at rock lobs, and I'll probably die almost as soon as I get there.
