Tarrance10
Which method would you guys say would be faster to mine a great amount of coal.....the mining guild or the coal trucks?
Aiel
Mine iron/granite then buy coal. DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). pulli23
not only did you evade the question, but you also double posted! - The OP asked what is faster, coal trucks or mining guild.. NOT about the iron/granite! I personally found the coal trucks to be slightly faster a few years ago! First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. dargonhuman
I'd say Coal Trucks, personally. There's usually less competition per rock, and if you have 20 Agility, you can use the log shortcut between the mine and Seer's Village and cut out a significant portion of the travel time. Plus, you can load the trucks with over 4 and a quarter loads of coal normally (totaling 5 and a quarter if you take a full inventory with you back to Seer's Village), but you can increase that amount up to 200 with the Seers Headband if you complete the Elite Seer's Tasks. Emptying the Trucks in the Village takes about as long as it does to run to the Mining Guild from the east Falador bank, but loading the trucks themselves takes significantly less time, not including the time to mine the actual coal.I've extensively done both methods personally (before I started buying it on the GE), and when I need to mine my own coal, I usually go to the Trucks. If you can get a decent mining pattern down on 4-5 rocks, the time goes by real quick and you'll have filled a Truck before you know it. Part of the Star Traks network. (^^Clicky!) Irony: An amnesiac rediscovering they have an eidetic memory.

casualjohn
I personally used to mine coal in guild and every now and then pick up a few extra mith ores. Either or the exp difference will not be that great.

Nifflin
not only did you evade the question, but you also double posted! - The OP asked what is faster, coal trucks or mining guild.. NOT about the iron/granite! I personally found the coal trucks to be slightly faster a few years ago! In terms of overall time, the OP wants both mining experience and ores. The best way for him/her to attain both is to not mine the ores for exp, but drop mine granite, do their best moneymaker with the time saved, then use that money to buy ores. Doing this they get more experience per hour then they would just mining coal as well as more coal per hour then they would get just mining coal. If the OP feels a need to cheat themselves and waste time by mining coal then the mining guild is the faster of the two options, however the level 15 resource dungeon is even faster if they are willing to look a little outside the box. TL;DR, both the OP's choices are almost equally poor, powermining then buying ores would be best, however if OP refuses to do this then the resource dungeon is better then both of the original two options. pulli23
Some people simply can't stand the clickery of power mining! - and want to train in a relaxing way. Nifflin
Some people simply can't stand the clickery of power mining! - and want to train in a relaxing way. Then they should train on stars with sc pickaxes. Look, mining will always be a click intensive skill. Ever ore you mine before level 77 needs a click. That means before level 77 for all mining, except stars, the more clicks you are making the faster your exp will be. However OP did not specify that they want the least click intensive method of mining. They specified that they want ores. The irony is that before you flamed Aeil for going away from the question that OP asked when now you are doing the exact same thing yourself. As for equating less clicking with a skill being more relaxing, I can tell you from personal experience that peoples tastes vary and some people are more relaxed by a click intensive method that leaves little room for other thought.
