December 28, 201015 yr I have 84 cooking atm and I'm wondering what would be the best (and cheapest) way to level it?
December 28, 201015 yr at 84, wines (-2 gp/xp, 500k xp p/h) or monkfish (.85 gp/xp 150k xp p/h) DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

December 28, 201015 yr Author Okay, looks like I'll be using monkfish then.Would suing cooking gauntlets be any help to be and would it be better to use a fire or a range?
December 28, 201015 yr Using cooing gaunts would help, and it doesn't matter if you use a range or a fire. I recommend using the rogues den fire, closest to a bank, afaik.
December 28, 201015 yr Cooking gaunts have no effect on monks. Using a range burns less but is much slower. Do monks to 93 then rocktails 93-99
December 28, 201015 yr I cooked lobster, then monks, then Sharks finally until 99 (using cooking gaunts). Once I sold everything I only lost about 1-2m which is pennies in today's economy. Note that I did this during double XP weekend, so got it in a total of 3 days?
December 28, 201015 yr Well I did swordies to 90, but monks shouldn't be too bad at that level, then I did sharks from 94 to 99. Rocks are pretty good now in the lower 90's. Cookings gaunts affect monks, but it's a very low rate. At 84, there's no difference between a range and a fire. If you have Varrock Armor 3, the Cooks guild range is the closest (and no risk of it being moved, as there is with the Rogue's Den banker). I went to Rogue's Den, and would actually say go for that as there's more people to keep you company if you want to talk to somebody. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
December 28, 201015 yr I would go with wines, buying the empty jugs and humidifying them ( did this for 35k jugs).Grape limit is 1k/4hrs if I recall correctly.
December 28, 201015 yr I did just sharks from 84 to 93. So you burn a bit more, but it is still one of the cheapest skills to level and sharks are a lot faster than monks. You can easily make up for the loss in gp by doing something more productive in the time you won.

I'd be happy to if you could give me some numbers. Personally I got 99 cooking in f2p on lobsters outside of Draynor pre-trade limit (cost like 800k, lol). It was pretty fast, I'd say I cooked a little over 1k-1.2k fish/hr iirc, if that's any help. In members, though, I'd recommend shark/rocktail. Wines if you can be bothered, but that might be a little more effort that I'd be willing to spend on something as easy as cooking. ~It's Super Effective! I remember using cooking gauntlets for monkfish, burning them as I took them off, but not as I had them on.
