Bork Stat Reducing

Okay this has happened to me a couple of times. I've gone to kill Bork and at some point in the tunnles my combat sats are reduced to one. What monster is doing that and how can I prevent it?

most likely dust devils

stop accidentally attacking them.

Dust Devils.

 

They won't reduce your stats if you run through without touching them, but as soon as you do, GF stats.

 

I recommend either bringing a restore/sup restore pot, a facemask, or just being careful as you run through.'

Or you could just not attack them. They aren't aggressive.

I understand that and I don't make it a habit to attack them but it's the type of thing I do without meaning to. So it's easier to just use a FSH and not need to worry.

They're particularly annoying because they're right at a point where the game loads more of the dungeon. So you could click the next portal, but accidentally click them. You could keep using the neitz and just click somewhere on your minimap in that section to avoid them.

+1, just remember where the portal is on the minimap and click there while the game loads; you can also just buy a few masks instead of your FSH, why bring something more expensive?

Because it has the defense stats of a rune fullhelm and he has one anyway?

Wouldn't it be better to wear, say, a niet or verac's helm and bring a facemask, instead of something that's mediocre in stats and only gives bonuses on task? I suppose this is a minor detail, since the killing doesn't take very long and it isn't very dangerous, but random disconnects can happen and I don't think the extra risk is worth it.

Bork has a hard time killing you at the best of times, unless you're soulsplitting perhaps. But if you're on a choppy connection, you'd probably be using a neit and taking special care clicking.

This whole discussion is silly because somebody actually concerned with doing this properly would be bringing a neit and right clicking the portal in the dust devil room.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it but no need to argue, my fights with Bork last less then 20 seconds as it is with claws specs. It just annoys me to no end when I get there and realize I have 1 out of all my combat stats. The easiest solution is a FSH seeing as I already have one. Though if it will make people happy I can remind myself to right click that portal as well. Was mainly looking for the cause of the problem, I didn't have a clue.
