What makes what you say is true? I am sure there are people out there in the world who says they are the saviour of the world that they have been contacted by 'God' or something. Who says what they say is any less true than what you say?

 

Because this isn't a belief.

 

The mind evolved this way as it is advantageous to be able to establish cause and effect. We can see what is a threat, how to avoid it, etc.

 

But it is not necessary, it is strange that a lie would evolve yes, it isn't like we'd work from an opposite assumption. Its just that, there would be no assumption. This is irrelevent anyway. Thoughts would be thoughts, feelings be feelings. What makes a bird sing?
