I like how we all try to be as far from Dusty as possible.

What difficulty will the NPCs be on?

Ross has stated that he probaly is NOT going to play EU3, so I would like to claim England.

Gosh darnit, I start doing pretty well in Japan, got a nice alliance going, conquered a Mallaca and was looking on for new wars to be dragged into, when all of a god damn sudden my game crashes, and I have autosave off :/.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

if we dont play on 'very hard' then i dont know really gg

Very hard just gives bonuses to the AI, which when you consider that we'll probably be partiotioning the AI nations between us throughout the game, it's not really going to make a difference.

I think I may hide under the cover of Ming until I can take their [cabbage] on.

Just vassalize SE Asia, Korea, and Manchu and you should be alright. Let Ming beat up your tiny vassals while you take over the lands near its capital. If a giant deathstack comes after you, run away, load your troops back on their ships, and sail them somewhere else to attack.

Keep that up for around 5 or 6 years and Ming's war exhaustion will skyrocket, revolts will spring up like weeds, and Ming will soon enough collapse into the inveitable Ming/Wu/Xu trifecta.

Just got HTTT and etc. Any suggestions for the Teutonic Order, if I decide to play em?

Well, it's historically accurate, so generally insignificant and puny, I would assume. :P

Seems more sensible to just have it on normal difficulty...especially if some people are chosing single state provinces, and are newbie.

That...and I like playing a game against a balanced opponant...not one that constantly kills me with an army half my size because the game says so.

More important question what speed? Playing 5 years of wait for X might get tedious, while trying to play without pause in battles is hard enough...so???

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Perhaps we keep it at 1 arrow speed until everyone is "finished" with stuff, then with a unanimous vote, we speed up to 2 or 3?

We should start paused at the beginning too, to generally sort stuff out.

2-3 minute pause at game start so everyone can get everything sorted out, then we play on Speed 3 unless someone gets in a war and wants it slowed down, in which case we would be playing Speed 2.

Ally with someone who can help you with Poland-Lithuania, either Bohemia or Muscowy. Try and trap enemy armies on Osel with your massive galley spam navy TO starts with.

Other than that, you'll be fighting enemies with a lot more manpower/men, so scorched earth and attrition damage will be a god send.

How's Iceland in this game?

Non-existant. Iceland got its independence after WW2. In this game its owned by Norway at the start.

Norway then? :)

Norway then? :)

Starts under a personal union with Denmark, and will have to deal with its more powerful neighbour Sweden.

That's not to say it's impossible. I'd probably talk to Retech about an alliance deal, that way Denmark's superior navy and Sweden superior army are easy to handle with English assistance.

Played for a bit as Algiers...steam rolled through the two other Muslim powers to the east, before being abruptly stopped at the Mamluk border.

Har har, I would indeed be interested in kicking Denmark's tail, but perhaps you need to wait until their personal unions with Sweden and Norway break?

Errr, my version of EU3 complete will probaly arrive sometime on the weekend. Hopefully in time for the first game.

Lol.

Alright. I'll be ordering the parts for my computer tommorow (since that's when the new visa statement starts), so the game might not be this weekend, but the next.
