PK'ing question

Well I had just gotten the last penguin earlier tonight at the lava maze. Then as I was leaving and trying to get out by walking/home tele w/e, and got attacked by a pk'er. I had brought only 3 things: my SS, rune plate, and quest cape. After attacking me, the guy dropped a noted dplateskirt, and i wasn't sure what to make of it... (course i realize now :wall:) but i asked and amost just said meh and kept walking, but i ended up picking it up and keep tryin to leave but he ended up killing me. After i spawn i see its 3 skirts... and thats all i have :o. How did a noted item worth only 150kish outrank my SS? Is it the fact they were noted or what?

The high alch value is higher than the items you were wearing. You keep the three most valuable in terms of high alch value.

People still fall for this? Items kept are based on alch value not ge price. It's a common lure to drop d skirt or d battleaxes for a 1 itemer and they keep over claws or whip. It also works with blessed spirit shield to make people lose godswords, or onyx ring to make people lose divine/elysian.

aha, that's something Jagex should work on then... and now that you said that I remember reading something eluding to that fact awhile ago :wall: :wall: :wall: oh well lesson learned.

Thanks, question answered.

Yeah... I was only combat 70 or so when PK'ing got taken out, and had only rarely gone to the wild. With the re-opening of the wild, I've gone for 3 penguins now, and to do the summer's end reward portals. I don't PK, I don't like pk, I was part of the ~6% to vote against the return of it, and sneak crap like this just reinforces the point of how much people suck

If a mod sees this go ahead and lock b4 more people flame my anti-PK-ness...

I'm with you in that 6%, so don't feel bad. And I've never even heard of people doing this to each other, which shows how much I'm in the wilderness, I guess.

Yeah I'd never heard of this trick, just some vague memories about high alch values being used

The other thing is when i do go nekkid or 1-3 item to get the penguin and the pk'ers just kill me anyway, even after i say i got squat and you're just wasting both our time, etc...

Oh well the democratic process does what it does, takes what *MOST* people want and to hell with everyone else's thoughts and opinions.... #-o

Don't take what you can't afford to loose into Wilderness and you should be fine.

thats [developmentally delayed]ed. op clearly went in there thinking he'd keep his ss, but fell for a dirty trick. your response is suitable for some topics, but not this one.

Sucks man, generally if you see something on the ground you'd really like to have, don't pick it up lol.

For future reference you can drop any item in combat - it will appear instantly to everybody, but dropping the skirts would of saved your stuff(they weren't yours anyway lol)

If you quote me please be sure to note that I'm extremely mad.

I'm pretty sure that he's posted that same response multiple times in threads where the OP has talked about dying and not having the most valuable items protected but rather the high alch value.

The problem is if you try to drop them it will give you a warning and won't let you.

I always pick them up then log, it's been a free 500k every time :)
