JPMC Mate
Hello TIF. I have come to you for another question. I have 33m atm. My gear right now is:FSHObsidian CapeWhipProselyte HauberkVerac's SkirtDragon DefenderBerserker RingBarrows GlovesD Boots My prayer bonus is +15. Now for my question: Atm, I do not have a Soul Wars Cape and I Pray on almost every task. Would buying either piece of the Bandos Set (excluding the boots) be worth it knowing it will lower my prayer bonus? I am not willing to get a Fighter Torso atm. Thanks. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.
Gandalf14141
A lot of people here will say don't get Bandos unless you're maxed, have overloads, and a chaotic weapon. I'd personally wait to get Bandos and just continue slaying with prossy. Finally on here to update that I have officially quit! It's been fun.[hide=Signature]R.I.P Billy Mays and <3 My Friend C.D.S 7/8/09 <360,816th to 99 Fletching 03/07/09|220,309th Person to be Able to Kill Dusties | 10 Year Cape on 12/20/14[/hide]
JPMC Mate
My friend says this: [Levi Lambert]bcp/tassysprossy makes you look nooby[You]Report · 5:50pmProselyte also adds +8 Prayer Bonus, which saves 20 doses of prayer potions.[Levi Lambert]Report · 5:50pmbandos has pray, str, and defprossy= addy def stats with pray[You]Report · 5:50pm+1 only.[Levi Lambert]Report · 5:50pmGF[You]Report · 5:50pm+8 > +2.[Levi Lambert]Report · 5:50pmstr>praybeast def> addy def[You]Report · 5:51pmNot if you Piety and pray on every task like me.And SW Cape is the only way I'll be getting Bandos.[Levi Lambert]Report · 5:51pmyou can still piety with bcp, leaving prossy only cheaper, not better[You]Report · 5:52pmI will waste more Prayer Potions.[Levi Lambert]Report · 5:52pmi know, still as I saidprossy isnt better, just cheaper because of pray pots[You]Report · 5:52pmBCP and BT will only be worth it AFTER I get SW Cape. Also, any reason to get it after all that? I don't doubt their advice, but I am wondering personally why. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. green9090
You don't wear an amulet? If you really don't have a fury, that comes before Bandos. If you do have a fury, Bandos chestplate would be your next logical update. The extra prayer potion cost is extremely marginal, so I wouldn't worry about that. JPMC Mate
Does a +12 in all defenses really make that much of a difference? Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? green9090
The fury is cheaper per strength bonus than either Bandos piece, and also gives a significant prayer bonus. There is absolutely no reason to consider buying Bandos until you own a fury. JPMC Mate
So I should use 15m on a fury? Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. JPMC Mate
I guess I will lol. Just for me to know, what would be the order of obtaining levels/items that will benefit me in the long-run? Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? green9090
Hard to say. I'd probably get BCP and then tassets, and then as soon as I could sell those to get herblore high enough for extremes I'd do that. Then get Bandos back, and cash it out for 95 prayer next. I'm not very good at the whole deciding what levels to get first thing, when I was a low level there was a lot less fancy stuff to buy. JPMC Mate
Alright, thanks anyways. :) I'll let some of the experts answer that question for me. :PEDIT: Also, how much of a difference does a str bonus make in dps? A formula would be appreciated, thanks. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. MightyMuddy
I think it was zarfot who said this, but aren't you supposed to try and keep your strength 5 levels higher than your attack and defense? At least when slaying anyway. Blog
JPMC Mate
Umm, not to be rude, but what does that have to do with my question? I'm first balancing all stats at 90, then raising str higher. Troll Bomber
I did slayer for a while with just prossy/whip/glory ammy. Finally decided to get 85 dung, so got a rapier. Used frosts dragons to purchase 88 herblore, fury, tassets, and bcp after a week, plus about 16M in mage equipment. I would highly suggest just roughin it out and getting rapier, exts, bandos, and all that jazz before you continue slaying. Seeing as I slayed the exact way you did at your level, I can say that I regret not doing what I did earlier on, because now slayer is soooo much faster. If you're absolutely set on not getting a chaotic or saving to buy everything at once, I would save and get extremes first, then a fury, then tassets, then bcp in the end. If you want to spend a little more you can get a zerker ring also which will speed things up outside of Kuradel's Dungeon. Finally if you can afford to drop a lot of money on SS and Turm, go for that. Go and try to get the SW cape, because it helps a ton. More worth it than fire cape imo. Extremes are just much cheaper to get. I said that turmoil is better than extremes (which is true, according to most people). I also said that extremes are cheaper to get. What I mean by this is that if you gather cash at a rate of, say, 2m/day, you should get extremes after three weeks or so, which would then increase your gp/day to 2.1m or so. Next up would be turmoil etc. However if you got a huge drop after three weeks, and you suddenly have the money to get extremes + 100m OR turmoil, I'd go for turmoil no doubt. As for your final point, that's quite true, and I only mentioned it to show it is unlikely to happen (but it could happen).
