Best fishing exp per hour? How about gold per hour? (level 90+)

Featured Replies

I'm about to hit 90 fishing, which means I'll be able to fish rocktails. Which is fastest 90+ for exp? Fly fishing, monks, or rocktails?

And which is the best for gold/hour? Sharks? Rocktails again? Cavefish?

And one more question, how slow are rocktails compared to monks/sharks?

best fishing exp atm is c2 fishing in dungeoneering iirc.

Besides that, please. I don't like dungeoneering and don't want anything to do with it.

You wouldn't real have to train it, like at all. You would just do floor 1 on c2 over and over against, quiting before the boss. Over 100k fishing xp/hr. The best you'll get elsewhere is like 70k and that's more work (Barbarian Fishing while alching the fish).

So yeah outside on Daemonhiem you want to do Barbarian Fishing. The moment you catch the fish, alch it, then immediately click the fishing spot again. Very click intensive, but the best you'll get.

Don't fish for money. It's better to just do the fastest fishing method for xp and make up the difference in money using some other money-making method, like barrows.

Let me put it this way...

If c2 dungeoneering is the best fishing exp, what is the 2nd best fishing exp?

I edited my post after I posted it, so you might not have seen it. That would be Barbarian Fishing while alching the fish immediately after you catch it.

That's very click intensive, though, so if you don't want to do that much work, an acceptable alternative would be rocktails, I suppose. Barbarian fishing = lots of clicking though, unless you use the cut-x feature, which works to some degree of success (and is faster than rocktails iirc).

Let me put it this way then... if you do C2 dungeoneering for fishing exp, you're essentially stripping the soul off Dungeoneering, making a mockery out of it, which I say is pretty fun if you hate doing it anyways (like I do).

Or this way: no efficient method of fishing is fun. Therefore, if you want, say, 500k fishing xp, you'd be spending 5 hours doing it with the Dungeoneering method and 7,14 hours via barbarian fishing. That's 2,14 hours you save that you could invest in a fun activity. There are some cases where one can rationally forsake the best training method (like if one just wants to get a small amount of xp while the other method takes huge amounts of preparation, or if the best method is boring and the second best is fun), but this isn't one. Just do C2.

You're being watched.

Yeah, barbarian fishing is a rather stupid fishing training method at the moment. C2 dungeons for great click-intense fishing exp, or afk rocktails if you don't want click intensity. You don't have to really dungeoneer, just think of it as wandering around some rooms looking for fishing spots.

If the OP is like myself an afk method is what s/he is looking for. I have actually been wondering the same thing as the only time I fish is when I am "working" so I can walk away from the computer and know that I didn't die. Also so I am able to alt tab and do other things.

So, not to hijack this or anything as I THINK it's the same topic, but what is the quickest afk method and the most profitable afk method?

I could be off my rocker also, but either way I would like to know the answer

Rocktails are both the most afk and the best profit. Bring a stack of decorated urns and some granite lobsters for the greatest effect.

They become the fastest right at 90 or wait a few levels?

they never become the fastest

he said they are the most afk and the best profit

fishing in c2 dungeons is the fastest and easiest

barbarian fishing is the most click intensive and the second fastest

Sorry for hijacking, but is f1 c2 fishing good exp at 85 fishing? And if I do it do I complete the whole dungeon or just reset after the fishing spots are gone?

c2 fishing is always the best exp/hr

if you care about dungeoneering, then finish the floor/kill the boss

if you don't then just leave

c2 fishing > barb heavyrod > rocktails > monkfish/cavefish > lobster > sharks

Shilo or other flyfishing ranks somewhere around rocktails but it's less afkable, less profit, and possibly less xp.

I started f1 c2 fishing but I am wondering if I am doing it right, someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong. I basically just search rooms until I find fishing spots, usually there is 2 or 3, I fish there until I deplete the resources, then I leave the dungeon. So basically I only open 2-3 rooms. Is this the correct way?

You should open all rooms because each room can contain fishing spots, otherwise that's just what you do.

It's vaguely possible that resetting the dungeon could be faster than doing a GD, but usually I think it'd be best to just stay in the dungeon. It takes a while to leave and set up a new one.
