money123678
Ok, so here it is. Basically, I haven't been playing for quite some time, and I noticed the release of the smithing update a couple of weeks ago. Now, I've been looking to train smithing, but am now f2p. So the question is, what is currently the best way to train smithing in f2p, and does the new update have any impact on said best method? Current stats that may apply, 95 Mining and 93 Smithing. Money is not really an object, although I would like it to take a slight application into consideration. So I.E, an expensive option, and middle option, and a cheap option. Thank you very much,A Lurker --Edit-- Accidentally said p2p instead of f2p on the second occasion of said word. Thank you Helm_Lardar for pointing it out =)
Bassy
The Workshop is definitely now the most reasonable method to train in f2p. I don't know at what levels the P2P stuff takes over, but you'll probably end up getting the best bang for your buck in the Workshop. In P2P, making Adamant Ceremonial swords is a very fast method right now. Mithril works pretty nicely too. Basically, ceremonial swords are where it's at for high level training now. So really the question is whether the burial armour is a better method than the conventional methods.
ilovecuttingyews
From what I hear, burial armours are <2gp/exp but 40k exp/h.
Helm_Lardar
You made a typo in the first post, saying P2P not F2P. That's why he talked about addy ceremonial swords. I'm not an efficienado.

JeRambo
Why not just do adamant platebodies? "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." "An imperfect man can do great deeds, and a great man imperfect ones.

Doomster
http://forum.tip.it/topic/289404-wip-artisans-workshop-guide/ - incomplete, but has some stats for burial armour, and a link to a spreadsheet - http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AmzuAfbFuFSVdC1RT1lRSW45ZDJPdENuQ2F4ME1kdkE&hl=en#gid=2 Moving from Iron I to Iron II doubles the XP rate, but ore usage is 9x more, so the cost is 4.5 times for twice the speed - certainly, before using higher level ingots, it may be worth earing additional respect and buying the bonus - try to find a world where nobody else is killing the ancestors, as that is a good way to earn additional respect.
