OrAnoS_eVo
Ok, so I've been switching in between slayer and dung and occasionally getting summoning up for a bunyip. My summoning is 39 and i was wondering should i just slay for charms or do a certain monster? Any help is greatly appreciated
JeRambo
Slay for charms :) "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." Sylph
Waterfiends are great crimson charm droppers; they drop one about 75% of the time. They can be found in Ancient Cavern, or Ghorrock Fortress (Temple at Senntisten quest required). Remember to bring a good weapon with a decent crush bonus, because stabs and slash attacks are almost useless against them. Leyenda
I killed Waterfiends to get from 60-68 summoning; even if you choose to slay for charms, when you max slayer you're probably going to end up with fewer charms than you need for 99 summoning unless you make straight talon beasts or something, so why not get some useful familiars now (like terrorbird) to speed up your slayer? Quyneax
I think that Ghorrock fiends would be theoretically better than the Ancient Cavern fiends. By the looks of the RSwiki charm logs they drop crimsons half as often as AC fiends but they drop two at the time. They are also .41 xp/damage as opposed to .4 and less crowded. But I got to test that first. LitterBug
I felt that at lower leveled summoning - it was generally a waste to use your crimsons.I figure save those for higher levels - it'll be worth it. For me, I just quested mainly to level summoning. There are a few good quests - there's some that give random exp lamps and I used most of them on summoning. Also for a long time, I was convinced that hill giants would be good charm droppers (since they have a pretty decent charm drop rate but so easy to kill) and this really wasn't the case.Moss giants are even better (although both of them aren't too good)Slayer does help a lot (and once a week go do familiarisation and go kill waterfiends for double the drop rate) It's better to stock up on all sorts of charms now and when you have a good amount of gold/green to burn - then go level up summoning. However, your idea is pretty good - I would totally rush a bunyip. That thing helps you save so many inventory spaces when doing slayer - it's not funny. NastyJenny
Good luck killing waterfiends with those melee stats wearing blue d'hide... Black demons, Greater Demons, Dust Devils are all easy monsters that drop half decent crimson charms.
OrAnoS_eVo
I'm trying to get 70 range so once i get it do i wear black d'hide or kariil's?
Quyneax
Karil's on waterfiends, black hide when not tanking magic attacks. Though black hide does work on fiends. Troll Bomber
Just do slayer. You will (in a way) raise your melee stats that need work, as well as range (if you cannon), and get summoning levels also without even realizing it. I'm almost 98 slayer and got 99% of the charms for 96 summ from my tasks. It's much easier to do imo than camping for blues or crims.
Hedgehog
Use elite void vs wfs. It has decent magic def and prayer, plus the normal void bonus.
