You rolled more than one 100 in a row during that fight out of sheer luck, then were trapped the rest of the mission while I took out most of the rest of the pirate base and successfully negotiated for the trade of their captain. Not to mention that is your only combat experience so far, not that the rest of us have much more. Or if need be I could scrap the Estoc and make an awesomely outfitted destroyer, or mediocre heavy destroyer. The Estoc is just nice as a small zip around and steal/kill stuff pirate vessel though.
