Recording Console game session without software & cables?

Featured Replies

Is there a way to record TV while playing a Console game? As an example Call of duty Black ops has memory which records your matches. It's so convenient.

I was wondering, is there a way to use a harddisk to record TV while playing?

If you have an X58 series motherboard with USB 3.0 you can use a BlackMagic Intensity Pro (it's connected by PCI, so it's basically part of your PC then) to record your console sessions on to your PC.

Yes, that sig was annoying.

If you're talking PS3 or Xbox, then no. Black ops lets you upload clips up to 2 minutes I think (or around there), but I'm assuming you want full gameplays. You need to buy a bit of hardware to record games otherwise. I've seen ones in the UK as cheap as around £30 though. At above, you don't really need a black magic cap card to start off with - IIRC they're quite expensive.

I second BlackMagic pro intensity if you have a desktop computer with a rather good CPU, its great for capturing gameplay footage.

1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

I use a Pinnacle capture card.

Dazzles are garbage, if you're serious about it don't get one.

Garbage? Mine looks pretty great if you export in the right format. Only problem is they can cost quite a bit depending on the one you get.

I had one, they don't even record in HD as far as I know.

I have a Hauppauge which always recorded it in great quality, but now I'm bored of doing that and I'm trying to sell it D:

Even if it's a dumb story, telling it changes other people just the slightest little bit, just as living the story changes me. An infinitesimal change. And that infinitesimal change ripples outward-ever smaller but everlasting. I will get forgotten, but the stories will last. And so we all matter-maybe less than a lot, but always more than none.

Put a camera infront of your tv.

Obvious answer IMO.

It's best to use a cellphone camera because the file size is smaller.

And have some old guy with Alzheimers filming you play.

Better yet, don't do it.
