Rs iPod apps for the ge

Featured Replies

I was curious if anyone has created an application that could pull your ge updates similar to the rs tool bar. I know there are a ton of players who have been hounding Jagex for this tool so they can put it on their iPods and what not.

Can't be hard to make, and should be made, but i cannot develop for iOS :(

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

Not sure where that android app gets the data from, I presume it uses elements of the official toolbar its self, otherwise I can't think of a way it would get the information.

If android can create one I don't know why iPod hasn't even made an attempt.

I wonder how hard it would be to create one.

Well I would guess that Android developers (Since it's them that make the apps, not Android, which is the name of the OS) are the kind of people more interested in that kind of an app. Although an iOS dev may well have made an attempt at making such an app, or even finished one, there is always the possibility that Apple did not accept the app into their app store.

I wonder how hard it would be to create one.

Not hard, but time consuming. And expensive if you don't have a Mac and an Apple developer license. (Well of course how hard it is depends on your prior experience really)

Because it a) costs money to develop for iOS b) you need a mac.

Android apps are simple to develop, you need osX (Not necessarily a mac though) to make iOS apps, apple takes a good chunk of your sales, and there's a chance apple might of flat-out rejected an app. It's not that hard to just use safari to look up prices though.

I wonder how hard it would be to create one.

All you need is some Objective C/C++ knowledge.

To develop it yourself its free and you can always use a virtual hackintosh.

You have to pay for the development kit, unlike Open-source/Windows programs.

And on top of that, I think its a yearly subscription of some ludicrously high price seems to be an apple pricing habit

Out of interest, how would the script get the information for progress? Through the toolbar?

Only if you want to publish on the app market, and if you publish an app like a GE tool for RS, many people will buy it, offsetting the cost.
