Bandos or Elite Void Knight melee?

Exorcism

Recommended Posts

Hello,

So, I recently decided to get my melee stats up and I found a trainingspot that I am happy with. Here I need both prayerbonus and attack/strength bonuses but obviously no defence bonuses as I am praying. Therefore, I was considering getting Elite Void Knight Melee armour (I already did The Void Stares Back and have the torso + 50 seal.. I lost all the other Void parts though.) but I am not sure wether it is better than full bandos as I only ever had Void Ranged. Of course, this is differnet depending on your stats, so here is a picture:

accountgear.jpg <-------- For some reason they wouldn't let me use .png or .jpg pictures so I added a link instead

So, what would be better for this kind of training?

Thanks in advance,

I would say that you should get elite void + a deflector then instead of void gloves use your barrow's gloves and then it will definitely be better than bandos. I would probably still recommend it over Bandos though for the prayer bonus when praying.

In the short term max strength gear would be better. In the long term void would be better because you will need it for other things.

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

For this case - if you're going to training heavily on one monster, I'm pretty sure elite would be better (if you replaced the void gloves with barrow gloves and used a deflector instead)

Obviously, if you're going to be training slayer - the elite void can't be worn/won't help much.

As for PC points, I felt that watching movies while playing conquest was a pretty decent way to earn tokens.

The next best alternative is playing in the Veteran's boat but often, there's so many bots - it's not always a good idea.

If you do decide to play on boats instead, you should just hang around the knight and let brawlers come to block off the path.

If there aren't any - go kill off the defilers and whatever that are inside the base attacking it.

Void deflector with barrows gloves would give you a higher max hit and I'm pretty sure also lower accuracy (it's 1.1*(82+12+64) versus 82+12+24+64 which is 173.8 versus 182) though you shouldn't be training on anything that requires accuracy anyway.

Incidentally it'd be worth getting a rapier first, which would also change this to 187 versus 194, e.g. a smaller difference, not that accuracy is the important bit here :P.

Thank you for all your answers. So far I have gotten Elite top and Elite robebottom and almost got the hat again. I am going to time wether Bandos or Elite void is better once I have it.

I do not intend to train at this spot till 99, I just want 90 attack and defence. And yes I am going for a rapier aswell. :)

Are you guys sure it isn't better to replace the top or legs for bandos armour instead of the gloves for barrowgloves?

You wear three void pieces + helmet, so you keep one out of the four: body/legs/gloves/defender. The highest offence from any of these pieces comes from the highest strength and attack bonusus. For the gloves, it's +12 and +12. For the defender, +6 and +24. For the chestplate, +4 and +0, for the legs +2 and +0. Not very hard :P.

Get elite void with deflector if you're doing it purely for xp
