June 20, 201115 yr This weapon is inferior to the Rune crossbow and the Chaotic crossbow in ranged bonus, making it the third most accurate crossbow in the game. It also has a lower max hit than the chaotic and rune crossbows (when said crossbows are using runite bolts or their gem-tipped counterparts) and thus it is considered relatively weaker than chaotic or rune crossbows by many. Furthermore, the one-handed nature of the chaotic and rune crossbows allows players to wield spirit shields or other similarly. Some players are concerned about this, as Karil's crossbow is much more expensive to maintain and has a higher range requirement than the rune crossbow. However, despite the lower strength of Karil's crossbow, its firing speed still allows it to deal more damage over time than the rune crossbow, rendering it more valuable against targets for which special bolt effects are not required. -From Rs Wiki Frankly, I'd go with sell it. June 23, 201115 yr RSwiki is plain, 105% wrong about this again. Most of the time, Karil's crossbow has way better damage output than the rune/chaotic crossbows due to the far higher speed. It's 1.8 seconds per attack versus 3 seconds, e.g. two-thirds more bolts towards the enemy. It's just a lot more expensive, at very high firemaking levels a handcannon is better. You'd only use the chaotic crossbow when you need massive accuracy (Nex, Kree, mithril dragons if you range them) or defence (Nex, Kree).
