First of all, I do not have turm. I've recently acquired ovls and ze rapier and will probably be infatuated with bossing for a week before getting bored and going back to dg for the rest of my life. While I'm in this phase though, I have some glaring questions. I have so much to do and so little time!

1. Tormented Demons. To ovl or not to ovl?

2. TD hybrid setups. I'm currently using void with a deflector and runite bolts. Is this optimal or should I switch to void gloves + ddef/Karil xbow or Verac/Karil hybrid with Karil xbow?

3. Bandos duo DPS. I am uber-welfare right now so a hally will be my spec weapon (What I meant to say was "crash me pl0x"). I will definitely use void so I'm currently torn between d def and barrows gloves. D def seems the intuitive option since the hally specs will benefit from void but I still don't quite know how to quantify the -13atk/+6 str difference between the two options.

4. Rapier. Slash or stab vs The Big G?

5. While discussing tactics with my Bandos partner, I came up with the idea of food-bombing the boss room by suiciding with a full inventory of food and getting blessed. Is there anything that would stop this from being an extremely effective tactic for prolonged stays other than crashers? We Bandos during unsociable hours so crashers aren't a huge problem for us.

3) Dragon Defender every time

4) Stab

5) That's a great idea. Never thought of doing that.

Could I just confirm that #4 takes into account G-Man's alleged weakness to slash?

1. Ovl.

3. Though you're welfare I'd really not advise using void. Time's I've trio'd with friends and they've died in void is scary. Dhide top and Vskirt would be better IMO. Then again you didn't ask about that ;) So anyways D defender always.

4. Stab. Get a CLS if you want to slash him.

5. Kinda a time waste in a sense as you have to KC again, but it's only 5 mins really... But tbh depending on your summoning familiar you'll be fine. I duo a lot with friends and we have yaks, yet we've gone 8 Ovl trips before with yaks still at least half full.

Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.

Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D

1. Tormented Demons. To ovl or not to ovl?

While I don't personally have overloads I feel like it's worthwhile because of the constant boost to all combat stats, as you are hybriding this saves you up to 3 inventory spaces (where you would have used an extreme set + extreme ranging potion), and the healing can be done from EEE. In the short run overloads will make you lose money but if you stick with it you will obtain claws faster.

2. TD hybrid setups. I'm currently using void with a deflector and runite bolts. Is this optimal or should I switch to void gloves + ddef/Karil xbow or Verac/Karil hybrid with Karil xbow?

I personally wear tanking gear to reduce damage, so I won't comment on the void. I don't feel like karils x bow should be necessary. Prime is weak enough to ranged damage that I don't feel its necessary to use a non renewable form of ammo. I use the chaotic crossbow and broad bolts (generally duo with a near maxed partner who uses the same thing).

I've honestly never used a halberd against graar so I can't comment. When I go to bandos in void I usually wear torags platebody with the deflector because I'd like to last longer, so there's not much help I can offer you here.

4. Rapier. Slash or stab vs The Big G?

Stab. Accuracy is what counts vs Graar moreso than attack style and the rapier provides a much bigger stab bonus than a slash bonus.

This is such a good idea. I've never thought of it but I'll defninitely try it!

I hope I helped a little. I boss fairly often & my account is level 134.

Some solid advice, Spawn, but some of it's not very relevant to me. My only interest at Bandos is maxing DPS for as much anticrash as I can get without turm since my duo trips with this friend have all been a successful on the armour front so far, even though we're majorly experimenting (He's near maxed but he's only ever soloed before). It's the same deal the TDs, really. I can last for upwards of twenty kill per trip using void and ovls so, once again, my only interest is maxing my DPS with what I have right now.

Does anyone have any comments on the DPS of barrows hybrid vs void?

I've tried void there with duo and the minions will rip you up if you are using it and a defender. Really it's better to just borrow claws and use more tank-y gear.

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

Since you're advising tank gear, which I'm assuming to be barrows hybrid, I'm going to pull back to my other thread and ask this. Verac or Neit?

neitiznot always at bandos, it gives u a str bonus which speeds up kills/anticrash. and nezzy has better mage def with helps defendering from graah's mage based range attack

  • Author

I pray range since my friend tanks with a chaotic but your advice still stands for the minions. Thank you.

Neit/fighters hat are good but veracs is also good. If the rest of your gear is barrows then I would go for neit though.

That makes sense. Neit it is.

Just had a VERY successful 2 hour+ camping trip. I honestly think my tort was spawning food since I practically left with more than what I started with. Ended up walking out with a 9.6m tassets split and bought myself Karil's top with it.

For tormented demons, I believe void deflector would be pretty good, as it saves you a switch (defender) and you are using a one-handed primary weapon anyway. But both Karil's crossbow and handcannons have higher damage outputs than rune crossbows.
