tigershelby2
So, I just got another LRC task, and Ive heard in the past that they are weak to crush? So would that mean a D scimmy or a BGS would be better? I know SS is faster than BGS, but Ive never used a GS before, and since the price is so low, I thought what the hell. Sy_Accursed
I believe at you stats you should be using crush on them, if you got BGS that would be best option.I know at higher levels, however, the higher DPS from slash or stab on whip etc beats out crush, but I think you are just below that threshold. tigershelby2
And you can train str with a BGS right? AHappySeeker
The scim will give you more dps than the bgs.

No. Just no. Please, please, please, don't say things without backing it up with evidence. Analysis of turmoil boosts show that LRC have negligible (or absolutely no) defence, so ANY style will be effective on them. And a Godsword is just SO woeful that even IF they had some sort of inherent weakness to crush, it STILL wouldn't be the right thing to use. The Observer
And you can train str with a BGS right? Thats the main reason Im not using a whip like I usually do Yes you can, but if you use the crush option it will be a controlled attack.Crushing is an aggressive attack, so yes it will train Strength. I wouldn't recommend a godsword because the attack speed is far too slow. I don't think you'll have any problems whatsoever using a scimitar or a whip. Any problems can easily be avoided if you use a super attack/strength set with piety.

IHasChicken
While I'm at it, OP, you should really sell that BGS. It's crashing ridiculously hard, the only one niché use it has is for Corp, which you won't be doing seriously in the near future (no offence,) and it would provide you with some money to start merchanting, or to buy crucial slayer gear like a berserker ring or a fury. All the data I've seen, though admittedly mostly older studies, has shown while they have low defence they do have a weakness to crush and that below certain levels/gear crush results in higher DPS than you're standard fast weapons that don't have crush; bearing in mind of course most extensive studies are performed by maxed players which does occlude the factor of things balancing differently at lower stats from their outcomes. In personal experience a few levels back I certainly found crush on SS gave me better DPS than trying a whip or w/e did. As for BGS he said he had it, that's the only reason I said it'd suffice; its obviously not the best choice. As for other threads with this exact question, all the ones I've come across have recommended crush for people below certain stats (somewhere around the lows 90s iirc) Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

If he has a bgs the best advice is to sell it and get a sarasword or zammy spear if you are indeed convinced crush is worth using (which it isnt), both are cheaper and better crush weapons. Their crush weakness, if it exists, isn't significant enough to justify using a crush weapon over a whip+ddef. Trolling by giving good advice since April 2011.
