Themooingcow666
Ok so just out of curiosity, I have barely been playing since the wildy and free trade update, and now that i'm back I have a couple questions.Which of these skills would be most profitable at said levels?85 Mining75 Crafting75 Fishing60 FarmingAnd what would I do for highest profits? Second QuestionIs money easier to get now that there's free trade? Without scamming or screwing other people? I'm still a honest player and want to make money the honest way. Third QuestionIs it pointless to level skills now? Thank you-Orion
Cheat
Out of the list you give I would say farming but get it to 62 so that you can farm snapdragons and you will be making a fair amount of money. As with levelling skills no they're not entirely pointless you still unlock new quests and some useful items and skills like herblore and prayer are incredibly useful to level. Also the slow skills are very useful to open effigies with. Though if you question is more like will I make any money levelling skills? Then the answer is you won't make any good money and therefore you should really just do the fastest way even if it has minimal profit because the time you will save will allow you to do something which is actually good money. Oh and to the free trade money thing I would say yes there seems to be more money around and merchanting is slightly easier but I have no real evidence for this or reasoning. transcript80
Slayer is not fast money. You can earn it when levelling the skill anyway, but it is not a good source for "income". You earn money if you don't power slay (=using prayer, cannon etc). There are several (very) profitable tasks, Abberrant spectres profit even when cannoning, for example. Dragons are a good source for income, especially greens, but they are crowded with players and bots. Herb farming is profitable for virtually every herb, snapdragon being very good, but others like toadflax are not too bad either. Check seed-herb prices for more info, you'll get 6.5 herbs per seed on average, counting dead herbs as well. For optiman efficiency, you make money and use it to level the skill. I myself find it more enjoyable to take a slightly slower pace, and make money doing a skill. Example: barbarian fishing is the fastest xp in the game, but it is click intensive. I rather semi-afk monks, make some money and level a bit slower. Up to your preference. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

EVERYONE should be using prayer - it actually INCREASES profits as prayer pots are so cheap, and it DRASTICALLY increases KPH on all tasks. Herb farming is decent with juju's, okay-ish without them. You're not going to get good money from slayer until higher levels, unless you have the capacity to do DKS with your Dagganoth tasks, but you should still profit even using prayer for all tasks and using the cannon sparingly. This, cannonballs are prohibitively expensive - and on large tasks you get to use >1k which ends up to costing more then 250k to do a task If you want - you can just skip these until you have a found a decent way to supply yourself with cannonballsSlayer is only decent money - but you get pretty great exp along the way (melee+hp+slayer) and since slayer is so slow, you might as well start it asap.Pick up most of the rune items (full helm/chains/etc). I usually end up with about one mil worth of items a week and I barely slay really. I also do a lot of tasks (dags, hellhounds, kalphites, spectres) where you don't get much in terms of drops. Farming is always a good idea/MTK is amazing as well.Doing your dailies will provide you with a couple of mil a week (I generally buy the broad bolt/arrows + the chicken from oolong)
Troll Bomber
Try to get farming to 62 as said before for snaps then work your way to 74 hunter to get juju farming pots. They increase profits quite a bit (more so on torstols obviously) and are definitely worth the effort to obtain them. If I were you I'd start powerslaying now. As IHasChicken said, it makes you profit in the longrun by using more ppots ect. If this doesn't make sense to you, then just do it and you'll realize what we're talking about. Do some herb runs in betwen, as well as some tree runs if you want to unlock torstols faster. To answer your other questions: Fishing and Mining are neutral in terms of income when trained efficienty (barb fishing and concentrated gold in lrc). Neither is good money when used to actually make money. Oh, and crafting is a money-sink.
Themooingcow666
Ok thanks for all the replies, power slaying seems sort of confusing to me, so if someone could point me to a guide or quickly explain how to do that that would be great. For farming, I think i'll just start doing farming while leveling slayer, is it pointless to do any other farming products besides herbs? Quyneax
The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets):[For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip)Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top)[Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune)Dragon boots (rune boots)Amulet of fury (glory)Dragon defender (rune defender)Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring)[Most important] Full slayer helmet.[For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and elite void skirt (black dragonhide body and chaps)[Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (Saradomin sword, Zamorakian spear)[stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Korasi's sword (Zamorakian spear, leaf-bladed sword)Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimesCannon (optional, up to personal preference)Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +10 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +20 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, black dragon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit). Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better. Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning):68 summoning - bunyip81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires95 prayer - turmoil and soul split88 summoning - unicorn96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload99 summoning - steel titanI'm sure I missed something but this is most of it. It's worth farming herbs for cash and (cheap) trees and fruit trees and calquat to get to the better hebs quickly, until 85 farming for torstol. At that point, farm herbs only unless you really care for farming xp. If you want to max total for example, try farming torstol only until you feel like farming won't be done by the time all other skills are done, or when you have more money than you need of course.
