kingtrukr
I sign into RS and I'm standing there cutting ivy. Some kid starts talking to me so I type in my reply but nothing shows when I hit enter. Being a lvl 138 I'm familiar with the rules of the game. I might get a little mouthy or rude from time to time but I'm very careful to not say anything that violates the rules or could be viewed as offensive. After some messing around on the Jagex customer support page I finally check my to see if I might have been muted for some unknown reason. The page says that my account is muted but I have received no messages explaining the mute and I have no way to appeal it. This is a little frustrating since I have no idea what I may have done wrong and I can't contact anyone to see what the problem is. So does Jagex mute players now without sending a message telling them why and giving them a chance to appeal? Getting fed up real fast with the lack of ability to contact customer service. What other business of any type on the face of this earth does not give you at least some way to contact customer service? kingtrukr
There's a pinned thread for situations like this already. Really? There's a pinned thread to rant about customer service? I must have missed it. You do get that I'm not complaining about being muted, right? My issue concerns not being able to contact Jagex and the stupidity of them not having live customer service. Lose No Hope
Sorry. I misread that. And I agree, the lack of customer support is extremely frustrating. Just wait til you get the automated response from jagex about the mute. Kaida23
Can't P-Mods give out 24 hour mutes without a notification? Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. Unhesitating
P-mods can mute, and then Jagex will review it and lift, or send a notification and keep the mute on, I believe.
konzserwas
You must be new to this Jagex thing if you expected customer support <_< Regarding the mute.. As a former Pmod I assure you, mistakes happen. Not often, maybe one a year for me personally, but they do happen. Hell, it's possible to accidently mute someone because of a mis-click if you're not paying enough attention.
Crocefisso
You must be new to this Jagex thing if you expected customer support <_< True. The same thing happened to a friend of mine. jasignhagj
Same thing happened to me when I told off a money doubler at the GE. Some pmod must have muted me, not realizing that cursing is allowed if you don't bypass the filter. The mute got lifted a couple hours later though, and I didn't get a black mark. If you were being overly offensive then that mute was perfectly legitimate.

Kimberly
I might get a little mouthy or rude from time to time but I'm very careful to not say anything that violates the rules or could be viewed as offensive. I am similar to you in that I've played for a while and try not to break the rules. But I have a terrible temper. When you get irritated or upset, you'd be surprised to how easily things can slip through. And honestly, if it's a bored P-Mod sitting at ivies, I would expect him to be unwontedly harsh. It would give him something to do. >_>
Star_Fox
One time, I got into a pretty rough argument with some mods and was lucky enough to end up unmuted. So I guess it's just that you may haveunintentionally broken a rule or otherwise provoking a mod to mute you when you clearly weren't trying to. Yeah, I know CS from Jagex is one of the worst things in the world but it's their game so just live with it and forget about it. If you want consolation, just think about being lucky enough to only end up with a mute. Hey. It's a lot better than getting banned for using Swift Kit like my friend! It's a lot better than getting banned for using Swift Kit like my friend! How could someone get banned for using SwiftKit? :-s Actually, it's not as rare as most of you think. There was a discussion board in RSOF of where people were complaining aboutgetting banned for using Swiftkit. One forum mod said that it's apparently "against the rules" to use toolkits(which is dumb I know) to play Runescape. Some people get away with using it since they're more secret about itunlike my friend.

I thought the whole change from SwiftSWITCH to SwiftKIT was so that it complied with RS 3rd party client guidelines. Was there a recent change to SK's software that made it illegal again? essiw
If a forum mod said that, there is no need to worry. Forum mods are just like player mods normal players who don't know everything. http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Kaida23
Was there a recent change to SK's software that made it illegal again? Not that I'm aware of. Nor am I aware of any way for Jagex to know you're using it unless you're foolish enough to admit it ingame (admitting to using 3rd party programs is still illegal, even if the program conforms to the 3rd party rules). btw - I just saw the episode the quote in your sig is from. It makes a lot more sense now. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.
