Leaf
How many bones per hour could I offer on a Gilded altar in someone else's house? I've got 96 Summoning and Love story done for chipped Yanile tabs. I'm not rich enough to pay for lighters/runners in my own house =( How many bones should I store in Yak per run? Would the full 30 spaces be worth using, or would it be better to store only 27, due to the extra banking time necessary for the 3 more? Is mounted Glory to Edge the fastest way to bank? Or would it be worth it to use Duelling rings or something? Edit: I already have a Gilded Altar of my own, the 1m cost is not the reason I'm not using my own altar. The reason I want to use someone else's house is because I will not need to light the burners each trip. I am unsure whether the time taken/inv space used to light the burners will outweigh the time taken to enter someone else's house rather than teleporting directly into my own. In addition, I don't know whether 2 marrentils will last for 52 bones (27 in yak 25 in inv). Note that you no longer have to type the person's name each time you go in - after typing it once, you can click the name which will be saved right below the "enter name here." Based upon your summoning and herblore levels, and your intent to train prayer above 80, I suspect you can spare the ~1M or so to get your own, and it'll save you a decent amount of time not having to repeatedly type in another player's name. When I trained prayer, I had a stack of house teleport tablets, tinderbox, two herbs, 24 frost bones, and 24 more in the yak. I'm pretty sure the extra banking time isn't worth it for 6 more bones, and definitely not for 3. I used rings of duelling, with a glory equipped in case I forgot to grab a new ring when mine broke. Grimy's sheets indicate a max of around 1,400 bones offered per hour using 50 at a time, but in practice it'll be less, especially if using another's house. transcript80
Why would you save money using somebody else's house? As far as I know, using another person's house is faster because when he stays in there keeping burners lit, the loading time is shorter. Also, building a gilded altar costs....erm how much? correct me if I'm wrong. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

I could be mistaken, but I doubt that any loading speed benefits outweighs the slowdown of having to repeatedly type in the other player's name to reach their house. A gilded altar costs about 1.2M, which can be substantial at lower levels. However, that's around 6% of the cost of training prayer from 80 -> 85 using dragon bones, and about 1% of the cost of training 80 -> 95. Cheat
When I was doing my prayer training without a BOB I could do around 1100 - 1150 bones an hour using my own gilded altar doing 24 per inventory. Using someone elses house with yanille teleport this slowed down to about 1050 per hour. I suppose the main difference in whether when using a Yak anothers house would be quicker is if you would need to carry 4 marrentil to offer all your bones. Mirror
Well if you're using someone's house, why not also try to get them to do the lighting of the tinderbox with the incense? Saves you quite a lot of space in the long run and time if you're not worrying about that. The only issue is finding someone who would be willing to do such a thing, but hey, if you have a friend who is willing, don't knock the offer. :P In short, I personally would get my own altar just because it helps me always remember just how much I exactly need to bring with me when doing bones. :) A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind. When you enter someone elses house, the next time you open the interface their name is at the bottom of the box where you type who's house to go in. That means that you can click it once and you're in their house. The only time lost on typing is the first time. This may still be a valid point because your yanille tabs will take you outside of someone elses house instead of directly inside of your own, however when i got 99 prayer I decided this wasn't worth the extra effort to light the incence burners myself. If you are using a pack yak full of bones + your inventory your burners may burn out before you finish offering all the bones you brought. I'm not sure how commonly known this is- but make your Take BoB the left click summon option and you can offer all of the bones continuously- just collect your yak's bones right as you finish offering. (: Hopefully this helped a little!
Dax
May as well get your own Gilded Altar, it's not terribly expensive. Also, when you're doing the actual offering, try Games necklaces instead of Duelling rings, now they teleport you to Troll Invasion which is near a new bank with the Loyalty stand. Roughly the same distance without as many Graahks to put you off. Plus Games necklaces are some 300 gp cheaper. Just a thought from myself, who is also training Prayer. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
JJG
Use someone else's. It's a lot easier as you don't have to worry about lighting/bringing herbs. I think I used the friends chat 'sky was blue' (a dicer) as he often had an open house and paid for people to light altars. Did 70-99 prayer in no time at all. JacTise69
Use your own. When loading your bob you should do it before you withdraw your herbs, then you get 26 in your yak instead of 24. So bank, withdraw 26, hit call familiar which closes the bank and refreshes yours so you can see which one it is, deposit, bank, withdraw 2 marentill and 24 more bones. I can just right-click to withdraw bones, since I don't waste any time doing that as opposed to setting left-click to Take BoB. Use your own. I'm pretty sure I can have an Inv with house tabs, 2 marrentil, and the rest bones, with a Dwarven Army Axe wielded. Unless the Army Axe doesn't work for burners? OK, I updated the original post. I already had a Gilded Altar, it's not a problem of not being able to afford it.I'm assuming that it's better to store 1 inv in Yak rather than the full 30 spaces. What I want to know now is what would be quicker/better:-The extra 2 clicks and loading time to enter someone's house-Or the time required to light the burners + the use of 2 (3 if Army Axe won't work) inv spaces per trip for lighting. Troll Bomber
50 bones, 2 herbs, house tabs, tinderbox. burners last the whole time. It's faster just to do it in your own house.
Alphanos
One thing that may be relevant is that while two herbs will definitely last through 50+ bones, there won't be a ton of time left over as leeway. Meaning that if the burners are halfway through at another's house when you arrive and start offering, it seems to me there's a decent chance they'll go out and you'll be offering several bones burner-less until the lighter notices. Disclaimer: I have not tried training at another's house before, so this is purely speculation. When you enter someone elses house, the next time you open the interface their name is at the bottom of the box where you type who's house to go in. That means that you can click it once and you're in their house. The only time lost on typing is the first time. I didn't know this - thanks :).
