Hi everyone, I'm level 105 and I have never been a member. My friend might be getting me 30 days of members for my birthday this year. I was wondering how difficult it would be to get Turmoil in those 30 days. I know you have to do a lot of quests, and I'm confident that my F2P skills are sufficient to complete the quests; I just have to work on my members skills a bit. I'm also aware that 95 Prayer is going to cost a lot. I have about 82M in cash and I also have a friend who'd be willing to let me use his gilded altar. My prayer level is 76 atm. Do you think it would be possible to get Turmoil in those 30 days? If not, how far do you think I'd get?

 

Also, I don't think I'll be able to extend those 30 days, as I'll be heading back to college in September and I can't let RS ruin my grades again.

I am not quite sure about the quest issue, but I would asume that you have a life and that you are short of a few member only skills that would take time/money not to mention to do the quest's themselves. As for money as of now you are abit short, the cheapest you could get 95+pray is with 116 569 923gp (note:: it's hard to get a high amount of Dragon bones or greater in a big amount at GE prices I think), so you may have to pay even more then this, in short you're stil short ~34.5M minimum in cash.

 

 

If you have plenty of playtime in these 30 days and get the extra missing cash, then maybe....

If you decide to use up all those 30 days offering bones to an altar

Using Dragon Bones, 92 Prayer would cost ~83.16m. So you could probably get 92 Prayer in 30 days. However, 92 Prayer is often noted for not justifying the switch from Prayers to Curses. You'd probably have to merch (or by other means, raise sufficient funds) to get 95 Prayer in the next 30 days.

 

However, it sounds sorta like you're chasing this goal as fast as possible. It also sounds like you don't intend for playing much after, so I'm not really sure what the purpose of getting 95 Prayer is, since you won't be able to use it much. I'd personally recommend just raising money in whatever what you find fun, and if you ever happen to play Runescape again, use said funds to get 95 Prayer.

I think if you could finish the quests within a day or two and then get to work on using the gilded altar, it is possible.

 

Right now for you it would take 141,622 Big Bones to get to 95 prayer (assuming exact lvl 76). At 350 each (which they are lower but i overestimate on purpose) it will cost 49,567,700 gp. This does not include the marentil herbs.

 

For Dragon Bones, you need 29,505 of those and multiply by an approximate 4000 each gives you a cost of 118,020,000 gp. Once again, no inclusion of herbs for burners.

 

Considering your limited time and the fact that you will have to use your friend's POH (increasing the time between trips considerably) I would try to go for Dragon Bones and make up the money somehow soon, or if you must get the Big Bones due to cost, let's just say you'll get your money's worth for the membership.

 

Other than that, I think is possible, I do not know the specific xp/h for gilded altar, especially in your situation, but it could work. Also, I dont know how long the quest chain to get to curses is, but I dont think it is just one or two quests, so be ready for that.

if your only getting members for a month, why bother getting turmoil if your gonna go back to f2p, where you cant use it?

Let him dream. If he wants to do it oh well. Maybe it will prove useful if he gets members at some point later.

Wish that cashpile, easily. Flip for a week/two weeks and use the rest of the time getting turm.

 

Subscription is also dirt cheap. You should consider paying for it yourself in the future to actually be able to enjoy turm.

I really doubt it, there are tons of quests required just do temple of senntisten, you've never been a member that means you need to raise

fletching to 50

slayer to 37

Now obviously the quests along the way will help raise some of these, but they aren't going to get you all the way. Quests like the curse of arrav are no cake walk either. Then you need to spend all that time in someone elses altar..

 

I wouldn't plan on it, I think you should shoot for it but it's not really realistic, you'll likely get hung up on doing some other members activity as well. I doubt you are going to want to spend all your first 30 days as a member grinding, but hey if you do good luck.

As a slower alternative, you could buy babydragon bones, costing around 70m for 95. It'll take ~70h to bury all the bones though.

I would make all the money in f2p through flipping first. If you use frost dragon bones that actual altering time should only be a few days. The rest of the time you can spend doing quest series that give you prayer exp. While Guthix Sleeps, Blood Runs Deep, Nomads Requiem.

 

Edit: Also, if you get turm then go back to f2p you won't be able to use it. So while you could unlock it that wouldn't serve as much purpose as getting 95 prayer would.

And to do them he needs to train numerous member skills not to mention raising his f2p skills (presumably).

 

 

And using someone elses house, without the ability to quick tele back and forth + no decent BOB pet + other factor's that also will slow down the xp/hour, without these stuff and running 25 billion yards, his xp/hour will SUCK HARDCORE, in comparison to having the right conditions.

 

 

I am sorry to say, I think I change my maybe to a highly unlikely. I would advice you not aiming for this and instead like people already said, enjoy and explore P2P if this is your first time dont stress things maybe flip some stuff whilst chilling around ;)

 

edit: on a personal note, it took me roughly 1 and a half week to raise enough skills and to do the quest's I think (then I was already halfway or more in both the requirements for quest's/skills)
