Monkey Knife Fighters

Hey guys. Well I'm going for 99 Thieving and I tried Pyramid Plunder as well as Monkey Knife Fighters, and I know the latter is suppose to have better xp rates but I can't seem to get better xp from it. I did several 5min timed tests of each and the multiplied that by 12 to find the hourly xp, but I kept getting ~200k xp for Pyramid Plunder but only ~168k for Monkey Knife Fighters. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks in advance for advice.

Monkey fighters was made for mouse keys. If you don't use them, they aren't amazing.

I guess that's why they aren't amazing, thanks. Would you be able to give me advice/link me to a guide pertaining to using mouse keys? I'm not very tech savvy.

Iirc the first part punches and the second part pickpockets. Divide it up however you want, but I'd recommend making it 1:1 so you don't break any rules.

Are you trapping the monkey and pick pocketing twice per knock out?

Thanks hedgehog and yes to marcustullius

FYI - Autohotkey is a botting program. If you use the above suggested method following one input one action some people suggest your account wont get banned for botting. Others believe that just by using the above program you are violating jagex third party software rule.

No it's not, stop spreading misinformation.

As long as it's 1:1 it's fine.

Hey, let's just make it so I use the scroller on my mouse for each key.. And I limit the inputs to x/second. - Now I have your script with "1:1". Yet all I do is keep scrolling down.

Is this what is considered "runescape"? Playing by simply scrolling the mouse down for X hours to achieve a level?

If this is what you think is a good game I suggest you read a bit about "game design". And understand the difference between "following rules to the letter" and "in the spirit of the rules". Using what you posted is simply not in the spirit of a game: it might be that jagex can't ban you for it, or even it may be correct to the letter of the rules.

But please, please can we as tip.it take the stance away from this - and decide what is considered in the spirit of the game?

Tip.it is a fansite, and hence should hold high standards about what is considered "fair gameplay".

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Flawed analogy is flawed. You're using the same input for multiple outputs with your example. One mouse scroll down tick can only be linked to one specific output for it to abide by the rules. Not to mention coding what you describe into AHK is a waste of time because its so much more complex (using script resets and such) than much simpler alternatives that do not break the rules.

Trolling by giving good advice since April 2011.

hey then lets put all those outputs on "1234567890" so I only roll my finger over those keys.

Really, the whole idea of those "hotkeys" is against the spirit of the game, and should never be recommended to anyone on tip.it.

What is AHK? What I described above can simply be written into any language, ranging from C to javascript.

AutoHotKeys. It's what the script I posted was written in. It's very complicated to have 1 input work for multiple outputs.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm just going to go ReapMe-style and just click through it. My shortfall might just be I was new to the training tactic so I was slow.

Yeah after a while you can get it in flawlessly. You can pickpocket twice and usually have 2 game ticks left or so til you are able to knock out again which I used to get ready and hover over the punch option til the monkey was able to be ko'd again and immediately steal after.

What?

auto hotkey, its a key remapping program that can be used to make many training methods much more relaxed without breaking any rules. Seeing as enjoyment is the spirit of any game and that using AHK is not against the rules i would argue its against the spirit of the game to not use it if it increases how much fun you have.

This is just not true. AHK is a macro program that has a hot key feature. A script that uses 1:1 can easily be modified to run automatically! You are using a third party software no matter how you look at it and Jagex states that is not allowed.

From the AHK site.

"Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder.

Create hotkeys for keyboard, joystick, and mouse. Virtually any key, button, or combination can become a hotkey"
