In terms of defence bonus you're looking to upgrade to a dragonfire shield, however most people don't use this. You'll find that for most tasks torags provides more than enough defence- so you're better off going to the warriors guild and stocking up on rune or dragon defenders. They have I believe a +19 slash attack bonus, which will increase your accuracy further. It also carries a strength bonus.

If you want defense bonuses, you could look into a blessed spirit shield. You'll have to do Summer's End though. Otherwise, work on getting a rune/dragon defender. Less defense, amazing offense.

Was posting on the other one before Ezak ninja'd this

yeah i wnna try get a blessed one but some ppl said its [cabbage]

Missingo and Mini_Spawn mostly cover it.

Personally, sell your Torags legs if you have them and buy in Verac's Skirt... Think it has some better stats, and of course, the prayer bonus.

If you're slaying/monster hunting you'll be adding super defence boost to your level and stat bonus so really you don't actually need more defence. So personally I'd say go with Blessed Spirit Shield if you REALLY want defence, but Dragon Defender would help you a lot more if you slay etc.

You need 75 defence for a dragonfire shield. Until then, the obsidian shield is the best actual shield for slayer, but for the shield slot you should use a dragon defender to increase your damage output.

Dharok's helmet has less defence but the other pieces are otherwise equal. Verac's skirt is superior to Dharok's and Torag's legs though, it has +4 prayer bonus.

I got my dragon defender in ~ under two hours, though I was in multi-token mode and wearing a RoW so that might have affected it.

(curiously enough the Dragon Defender was relatively the fastest drop, just three or so Cyclops in contrast to the adamant defender which were about 20....)

Difference in Dharok or Torag armour is the look and price really. However, Dharok's helm gives less defence bonus. See this page for all Barrows Armour stats: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=barrows_guide.htm#rewards

Also, there really shouldn't be much of a debate going on here. Get a Dragon Defender, and if you don't want to take the time to do so, get a Rune Defender, it will still be better for you than the shields you have available to you.

It took me about 30mins to get Dragon Defender when they first came out. However, I spent a good hour and a half getting my second one a few weeks ago. (Gotta have that placeholder.)

Dragon defender beats DFS or CKS for pretty much anything. The only exception is if you're soloing bandos or something that hits equally hard, where you'll want to use a divine spirit shield. And of course DFS for dragons if you don't have super antifires, but you should get those asap if you intend on doing dragons.
