Personally I block, iron, steel & black drags.

 

Just can't stand them, no other reason.

What's the ideal slayer block list for charms/effigies/slayer xp?

 

Trolls everywhere

 

You blocked 3 of the best tasks in the game (black demons - for charms/effigies/slayer xp, Kalphites - for charms/slayer xp, Suqahs - for slayer xp/and what people claim are good effigies)

For TzHaar - isn't that the only way you get Jad tasks (these tasks are extremely fast so there's no real reason not to do it)

For iron/steel - the effigy rate is pretty good but that's about it

Nechryals - are pretty slow and drop decent charms but take way too long to be worth it

Dust Devil - bad/slow/horrible/??????

2. Dust devils are fast given you have a slayer helm, and good melee. If you're saying lvl 93s with 0/0 defense and only 105 lp is slow, then you need to stop commenting on slayer threads. O:)

I really like Dust Devils, had a task of 180 last night took 50mins to kill them, made 140k from them. Used 8 Player Pots (4) using Turmoil & Melee Deflect (purely because I'd just got 99 Prayer)

 

Normally bunyip is fine.

 

Made back cost if pots plus, not great drops, not amazing slayer exp but just such a fun task and easy.. Why waste a block?

2. Effigys are completely based on luck, not skewed. They are only considered rare because it is part of another "rare drop table" parallel to the original drop table. Most people call it distraction drops. (clue scrolls, visage)

hence why they sometimes stack.

Effigy rates are based on a monster's combat level, and hence because black demons are 172 or whatever and are cannonable in Tavelery, they are one of the best effigy tasks in game.

Despite what the TC said, it would make sense to block slayer tasks that slow down exp rate. The reason why I listed metals is because they are somewhat slow compared to other tasks.

I know using the traditional rapier and extremes would speed up the process but wouldn't that at the same time, speed up other tasks even faster? Most people find slayer appealing because of

the variety of drops you can get along with exp. Accumulating drops is actually a thumbs up for making good money if you're dedicated of course. The sight of your bank filling with all kinds of goodies... :shades:

 

The block list is just for preferences on what tasks you enjoy and don't. To each his own. I personally HATE tasks like aberrants (don't ask me why, I just don't like them) along with metals. Even if some may enjoy them

I don't and it's not like there are special rules of what tasks you can block and what tasks you can't block. You can sound efficient all you want but I'd rather train slayer without that feeling of "grinding" a skill.

 

Lastly, I wouldn't count on effigies so much. By the time you're done with slayer, you'll end up with a couple of levels here and there which won't really help that much unless you were intent on

aiming at a certain level. I use up effigies on farming since I can't stand it.

Well, he specifically asked for XP, charm and effigy rich tasks, so blocking something like aberrants would be a terrible choice because they're great cannon XP, and the XP from effigies really shouldn't be discounted because they will help you a good amount towards a slow skill like runecrafting. Attenuation is not the kind of person who'd waste potential XP.

 

Further, while extremes and rapier can be said to help to boost any task, they will help to speed up metal tasks comparatively more, since you now get to exploit their stab weakness AND make use of a dragon defender to further boost your DPS.

They're extremely slow unless you have a steel titan as a combat familiar but even so, they're bad exp.

There are plenty of choices out there and if it seems fast to you then you're doing it wrong.

 

What is this about the dust devils making a lot of money?

I don't deny that they're very easy to camp in CT, require next to no food and only a handful of pray pots - but they're still not a good task to do.

 

Profit =/= Good charm/slayer exp.

 

TBH, slaying for profit is a pretty bad idea. 140k in 50 minutes? You can make more then twice that on 5 minute herb runs.
