Simply because I'm comfortable with the program and layers really help.

Paint, is the only thing I've ever used.. Never seen the point of having to buy or download anything for such a result, maybe if it was for something more than a sig that could result in a greater proffit I'd think of getting a more reliable program. 8)

but yeah I agree with Quer, I wouldn't depend on the program to make you a better pixeler cus at the end of the day the drawings all down to you.. A bad farmer always blames his tools (a metaphor btw, aint saying your all farmers :? )

The problem I find with photoshop for pixeling is people tend to cheat a lot on it, add unecissery effects and use brushing instead of manual shading.. Its not how the true pixelers do it and I doubt it can be considered pixel art.

I wouldn't try make people use other programs tho, they all do the same thing, just using a different approach..

MS paint rocks, 'cos you can take colours from an existing pic. That's how I did my sig below

I use photoshop, because you can create your own palettes SAVE them lol. And it has the advantage of quicker zooming in and out (yes one less mouse click makes a lot of difference!!)

Plus you try getting you head around apple paint :\ I swear it's just a nightmare, lol.

Haha, ok you are forgiven =p

depending on your style. Most people use paint although the colouring system is poor. Not sure about photoshop but I can see how it helps, almost unlimited undos and 16x zoom

you dun need loads of colours cus I doubt anyone needs such a wide selection as it won't make their work any better, and I doubt there are many people here who would know to use true colour theory.. It won't make you a better artist.
