Zomgz another fightcaves question

Featured Replies

Srsly tho. I only have a quick question for any zerker that has done fight caves(Semi-recently).

I want to attempt them, this is my setup:

FightcavesonPureofWar.png

I'm a bit worried that i don't have enough brews/prayer restores. I plan on claw + venging then rapiering jad w/o killing the healers. I have 80 attack, 96 str, 90 range, 50 def, 90 constitution and 95 prayer. Think this can be done? Or should i just take it the old and slow route and range him(Possibly range all the way though the caves if the melee gear + pots and veng runes take too much space)?

And if my prayer/healing isn't enough, how can i improve my setup to include more brews/prayer restores?

I think you should be fine, bring no range pots and kite the 360s if you want more space. With SC gear you don't really need the black hide top either, it's only equal to green hide of course but you do get the bonus from both legs and body.

I mainly brought it since it's just light-weight rune. But that's a good idea if i don't need to tank; just do two SC games to recharge it. I do plan on kiting the 360s since i can do it more effectively now(New computer + wired mouse with slightly faster response time) then when i did it on my main.

Edit:

Fun fact: The range attack of rune platelegs + black hide top is exactly the range attack of green hide top + chaps.

i would suggest ranging unless you got extremes

It's not required or needed to have Extremes. Supers work just fine.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

Personally, id just range majority of the way up to jad. Then use curses to let him kill himself. That way you aren't reliant on a special :\

A dragon defender could be another improvement. You'll want one anyway regardless of fight cave outcome.

The deflect method no longer works. Also, melee is a lot faster than ranged.

50 defence pures can't use dragon defensive gear.

Whoa deflects got nerfed at jad?

I'd personally melee everything except the 360s (I'd still kite the occasional claw special to speed kills up, but not constant melee as i'm not too confident with my kiting.) and 45s (they deflect small amounts of melee damage, it adds up.)

Then on jad i'd range him until the healers come, and then spec him out before they do their job (Remaining venged, if i make a mistake it will help, but i won't rely on it.). This makes it a hell of a lot easier to survive, and will realistically only take about 30 seconds to a minute longer than rapier, at most, i'm sure you can wait that long.

I just thought of a no effort way to kill jad on a main (That recently got nerfed apparantly, typical.) just bring lots and lots of brews and good defense/prayer gear. Now simply range jad from a distance with deflect mage prayer constantly on. Everytime you get hit with range, brew up like crazy and re-veng, only using super restores when you're well above 970 lifepoints. You should be able to tank the occasional range hit, and easily outheal any damage unless very unlucky. The amount of deflect and vengeance damage, along with your no effort ranging, should be more than enough to kill him before you run out of brews or he miraculously hits two huge hits in a row to kill you. It's highly likely that you'll kill him before he manages to kill you, only issue would be the healers, but i still think this would heavily outdamage them.

Even without deflects that method would probably easily kill jad, but it would be a lot more effective with them.

That sounds like a horrible idea. You can't recover 800 lp within the time between attacks. That is equal to downing 1+ brews and about 3 seconds, which I personally can't do.

Jad attacks really slowly so you can drink ~3-4 doses per go. But yeah, veng isn't worth it that way. Better to just get in melee range w/ melee pray, claws, veng and a bit of luck after deflecting down to half health (when you see the healers coming but they don't quite heal yet).
