I'm using the expert boat and earned over 1000 commendation so far without anything. When can I expect my first pair of boots?

On average 500 pest control wins, obviously we can only estimate, you're looking at six to eight hundred wins for all three.

Few of my friends got theirs at 300~ wins and I got mine at 400~.

Around 500 wins is the usual mark for the first pair.

Then as said like 600 - 800 wins if you want all 3.

 

Of course you may get lucky, but thats a rough guide.

I've done a combination of veteran and novice depending on the time of day and whether or not I could find a clan world. My points are all messed up. :( The novice boat is amazing for winning games quickly, by the way. The bots are very efficient.

I'm up to 1850 commendation now. Still no boots.

I got my first set of boots after 566 wins. The average isn't really that low - you should start looking out for them at 400, but boots often come after 500.

That's the consensus I've gotten from people with boots. I doubt that it takes as long as a couple hundred more wins to get all 3 though; unlike what the first few posters said I was told they start coming fairly quickly after the first pair.

It varies largely per person. I'm at 592 wins, which is 26 wins after the first set, and my next pair of boots is nowhere in sight.

I kind of wish Jagex made this process less luck-based and more straightforward. I would gladly pay 500 commendation per pair of boots, or fork over zeal and tickets for bottoms and helmets.

You have to bare in mind "fairly quick" is relative.

 

like 100 - 200 more wins is relatively quick for 2 pairs of boots when they first takes like 500.

 

Personally I was somewhere between 600 and 700 when i got the 3rd pair.

Are you clicking through (as in clicking "click here to continue") BOTH dialogues at the game end and not just spamming back into the boat?

Yes. I've had many people ask me this and am most positive that it's not the case of me missing any messages.

Someone on my friends list got 5 pairs of boots in a day btw, i noticed it spam my alog. (4 of them were tricksters) so i can assume they become more common or his bot is the luckiest thing ever.

You're given the option to pick which one you want...

Yes they become more common, the vital mechanic of hybrid gear is: more wins = more common

Finally got my first pair at around 2900 commendation.

Okay. I realise this might be an old thread but I'm it's still relevent!

 

I've been hunting boots for a while now, but I have this OCD thing where I want a placeholder :P.

Number of wins for each boot.

426, 443, 459, 480, 497.

 

And now I'm 73 wins dry O_o".

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem for my helm and top to be honest. My 6th one took ages. My last hybrid helm took around 12+ wins, when usually I'd get one, 1 in 3 after my first one.

My last hybrid top took a good hour before I got it, yet 2-5 came so quickly.

Can't remember about gloves :P. I did it when it first came out with the boosting in w153 =P.

 

EDIT: Oh the irony... FML. Got the last pair in the game as I was posting this. 74th win after 5th boot, got my 6th boot =P. Off to swars now.
